fair enough. More out than I thought. It was a bit hard to follow as a number of the eagles players were not listed on the sheet and I relied upon a couple of nearby Eagle supporters.
Hazydog wrote:Wasn't the case at Elizabeth yesterday. 11 goals in an even first quarter, before Centrals took control of the game. 35 goals in total between the two for the match - though still times where all players were in one half of the ground. Time will tell if that trend continues but I can't remember when so much end to end footy was on display as it was yesterday.

Three more injuries for us. Taylor ankle and looked bad, Guilden and Dale more minor but did not play after quarter time. Notable absentees for us Liddle, Murphy!, Bass, Rolfe! Veide, Redigolo, Boyd, Furdin and the two unseen recruits Flagg and Darrou would all be expected to be in our strongest side.
Eagles played committed running football and were very good around the stoppages. They would have been pleased with their commitment and adhearance to the game plan. When South played well, they looked good enough. Rankine played down back in the second half and was impressive, as was Sam Overall and Brad Crabb. McLeod and Cross very good for us in the midfield. No winners up forward for me.

Eagles had 8 first choice players missing
Wundke, Lewis, Thompson ,Guiffreda, Thurlow, P. Raymond, Boyd and Jarrad.
So they would be happy with there first run vs Souths second.
Did you not play West?

Good to hear, so plenty of long kicks and not much chipping?

EAG - 15.9 = 109
NOR - 5.3 = 33
Nick Hayes kicked 5 for the Eagles, Lewis 3 and Goldsworthy played all night in defence...
Persinos kicked 2 for the Redlegs, while I was impressed by youngsters Luke Partington and Zac Richards...
Norwood had at least a dozen first starters rested tonight but that being said, the Eagles were impressive...
