Bugger off Glenelg,
Monty & Hately being head-hunted.
I think this pre-season will be interesting & both Meggsy & Rossy will need to be on their toes.

Don't like the sounds of that. Hopefully Centrals get them both

Naturally, the link is there with Darren Reeves who would have coached them both at the Dogs previously.

I have it on pretty good authority that there is a pretty strong chance BOTH of them will be staying in Victoria.

As previously mentioned, Hately has a partner residing in Victoria and will likely stay there if not re-drafted by a 3rd AFL club.

Montgomerie's thinking, supposedly, is that with 10 x AFL clubs in Melbourne, he'd be best staying over in the VFL to get more exposure.

Thanks Big Phil for the info, you can't begrudge for those reasons at all. I was just thinking selfishly as a fan that it'd be great to have them both. Whether we get one of them, both or neither I have faith in Thommo, Meggsy and Ross to bring people in that'll make the league side better. As a club we are in a really spot with all the men's sides making finals. We should have good internal growth for a while.

Sounds like the old North Melbourne to Chris Jansen line. Probably not much evidence that supports the theory that playing in the vfl increases your drafting chances versus the SANFL. Montgomerie can't do much more, won the essendon b&f didn't he.

Recently had a look at the museum in the Clubrooms, as well as the photos kept in the Peter Vivian Room under the grandstand.
Well worth a look.
A great initiative which I was unaware of was that patrons could become a "Friend of the Museum" for $20 a year which supports the work done by the Heritage Committee. This also includes receiving copies of an excellent Bi-annual magazine which includes brilliant articles on a range of topics and personalities. All the inside info on everything from players of the pre 1964 era to the SANFLW premiership.
A call through to Kirsty at the Club will get you in the door.
Thank me later!

Looking increasingly likely Montgomerie and Hately may not end up at the Dogs next year, and Harry Grant maybe lost to the AFL system.

Unlike in previous years its fairly reassuring that you just know Mark Ross and Greg Edwards will be doing everything possible to get recruits in and by the seasons start the INS/OUTS will read pretty positively.

Runner Up.
Not saying much though as we struggled to cobble a side together most weeks and would finish behind every SANFL team on the ladder. He had a solid year but played the majority of the season which helped.

I think he will play for Footscray, the Western Bulldogs have shown moderate interest. Doesnt take much for these clubs to suck them in

Jackson Hately just signed with Essendon's VFL Bombers affiliate.

Not surprising given the talk previously and can't blame him at all given his partner lives in Melbourne. Pleased with signing of Pudney so far he will add a bit of difference to the midfield. I'm sure we are going to add some quality in areas of need. Got some good growth within so pretty excited about the upcoming season

He attended our B and F night.
The last recruit who attended a B and F before signing was Harry Grant. Hopefully he has similar success.

Gasper played 33 games for Port Melbourne and has kicked 52 goals.

Sounds promising

Thats cool to hear. Eagerly awaiting to see who the player is. I'm pretty happy with our recruiting so far, definitely added nicely to our mid/forward group.
