I for one would love to see it!!

Not happening but worth a thought.
With what money?
They couldn’t afford it.
Port did the best thing for their club at the time and moved into the highest comp in the land, that should have been the end of them in the SANFL.
Moving to the VFL/AFL Reserves will finally right the wrongs that the morons at the SANFL inflicted on us

Would be better off upgrading Port District and either Golden Grove or Tea Tree Gully.

The SANFL would then essentially be the vision of what it was to be when they commissioned a report in 1963 prior to Central and Woodville joining.

The Vision was:
South was to move to Elizabeth.
Within 10-15 years 2 new teams were to be created at Noarlunga and in the North-Eastern suburbs.
There was to be no Woodville.
4 clubs voted in favour, 4 clubs voted against

In 2025 we could have:
Central District continue at Elizabeth.
South to continue at Noarlunga.
Golden Grove or Tea Tree Gully.
We have Woodville-West Torrens instead of West Torrens.
Port District instead of Port Adelaide.

Let me see if I won the 40mill in Powerball, no chance.

Celebrity presidents just don't get it - 'look at me'! and slagging the SANFL is a bad look to say the least. Nowhere Man.

And deep down inside most clued up Port folk cringe too.

its really easy to blame the SANFL competition, a cop out even, remember them not having their own teams was hurting their development? They got their way and now they are saying this....

Its a huge call to say that the AFL reserves will be the next best competition and regulating SANFL to 3rd.

Have they actually considered they might already be in the better comp than the Eastern seaboard teams?

There is going to be extra costs plus reduced recovery for their players

Exactly what the club and players believed to be happening in 1995, we were to leave the SANFL. That changed.

Who knows if the club/clubs were operated with some sort of financially responsibly it could have worked.

Unfortunately, due to incompetence we will never know and something had to go.

I think we can all agree on this!
But it did and now they have to work out what that looks like moving forward

Channel 9 has just reported that port has applied to field its reserves in the VFL.

Fingers crossed....

Interesting to see how they justify the expense…

Couldn’t be a cheap exercise to fly an extra 22 players and support staff interstate every second weekend.

If all home games are afl curtain raisers that would go a little way for supporting the cost as they would be operating at a loss playing home games in front of 1000 sanfl fans I imagine.

They will ask the SANFL for a non-repayable loan.

Can’t see them being allowed in as the Magpies so would imagine that’s the end of them and the PB’s. Power reserves and guernsey from now on you would think

I'll like to see PA pay back the $18m the SANFL poured into their club to keep them afloat.

Try doubling that number.

Without the State Government bailout that was the redeveloped Adelaide Oval, it’s likely that the SANFL (and SACA) wouldn’t have survived.

They’ll need to break a legally binding contract leaving early. $400K a year. Going to cost them $1.6 million before they even start….
