The major networks now have digital channels needing content, whether that be V8 Supercars, cricket, or state league football.

Reading across 3 pages of whinging without knowing any of the major details now has me convinced.

Most of you lot will complain about anything!

When they commentated for 7 thirty years ago, the call sign of the station was ADS- channel 7 became the current channel 10 around 1987, when the 2 stations swapped call signs (I think it was connected with Christopher Skase's media ownership changes in the Eastern states).

So if we were to get some old SAS (channel 10 up to '87) sporting "identities", we'd probably finish up with Max Stevens and Andrew Kay

What is wrong with the ABC coverage?

If ch7 showing state league football relies on the crows reserves playing, then its a load of crap.

"great news if Channel Seven get it", be like the AWFL on a time delay, as I watch Carlton and Dorkers on a 1 hour delay, here in Perf ;)

At least with ABC coverage, interstate viewers can see a game live on ABC1 TV (satellite), replayed a couple days later on ABC iView and also replayed on Thursday morning on ABC1 TV.

I cant see Channel 7 (or 7TWO or 7Mate) televising a game live nationally let alone replaying on national TV.

The so-called preferred option by the SANFL is lead to a reduction in potential viewer numbers.

If they're smart, one of them (Eddie's mob, SANFL, Channel 7) will introduce a 'you can see it anytime and any place you want, including live streaming, if you pay us a few $' model for interstate/overseas fans. I'd certainly pay (to see Norwood games) if it was anything short of outrageously extortionate. As a backup option, there's no reason for them not to do the equivalent of what the ABC currently do, and replay it on 7Mate at 3 in the morning (or some other off-peak time) one day during the week so fans can just set their devices.

The chances of anyone being smart, on the other hand...
