He would be an asset for sure. No need to chase Nathan Lyon.

Former SANFL South Adelaide coach Ron Fuller claims contract breach, wants damages from 'obstinate' Panthers

WHEN he was sacked from his job as South Adelaide coach, Ron Fuller said he wished the club "and all the fine people associated with it" every success.
Today, he told the Adelaide Magistrates Court his former club was being "obstinate and intransigent" about his pay out, and asked it be ordered to pay him damages.

He urged the court to send the matter to immediate trial, claiming "long and boring conversations" with the Panthers had failed to hammer out a viable settlement.

Fuller - once considered among the most successful SANFL coaches of the modern era - has filed a breach of contract lawsuit against the club.

"There seems to be a basic misunderstanding of the difference between an open-ended contract which can be renewed upon discussion, and a fixed-term contract - which is what my client had.

Since 1964.

surely this is pretty straight forward - they signed him for 5 years and sacked him after 4 - they owe him a years pay ... so pay it

Were there any performance clauses?

From this I'm reading Ron says there isn't but the club say yes there is....

Very simple, read what is WRITTEN in the contract and act on that basis.
Not that hard to rule on what is WRITTEN rather than what is inferred.

Good old South , just as we slowly stop laughing at the Glenelg jokes too.

Oh for a 9 team competition again.

Hurtful.

You forget that we were NFL premiers in 1978 (champions of Australia I think) .The very prestigiuous Escort cup came our way in 1979,1984 and 1986 even if Rick Kinnear was umpiring. This was all before being the Foundation Cup premiers in 1991. How we did not win the Foxtel cup in 2012 remains a mystery

And before 1964 they had 19 years of total incompetence. In an 8 team comp the highest they finished between 1945 and 1963 was 6th. So they have had one good year in 76 years. Only St Kilda is worse.

Why would they be trying to make an offer to Ronnie?
Shouldn't they just pay him the full ammount he is owed?

So Glad the club moved Fuller on.

Statitically the average losing margin in his 4th year in charge was worse than Sampson's last year as coach. At least Clay had the excuse of being inexperienced as a coach not sure what Fuller's reasoning for the huge losses were.

Let's remember at the start of 2013 Fuller said he had the squad he wanted!!!!!
