It's the Foxtel cup that delays the fixture coming out.

Central and Norwood kick off at 12:10pm in their Round 2 clash !!!

That will be the TV game that week...

Interesting to see Norwood v Central back at The Parade on a Friday night in Round 12...

Grand Final Sunday Sept 21 . Disappointing and a bad result I would imagine for the clubs involved.

Not just for the clubs involved, but for the League as a whole...

Promotional aspects will now be caught up in the AFL Prelim hype and even more so locally if the Power or Crows happen to be in it...

Not being the last stand alone Grand Final to be played in Australia, post AFL GF, is now pretty disappointing, for sure...

Not necessarily, that was mainly last year and the year before. This season would have been due to the fact that there is a whole new element to the draw with an extra side in the comp. Anyway, doesn't matter now, it's out.

Yes we are aware of that, I was referring to it being on a Sunday with no public holiday.

Hasn't it been on a Sunday with no public holiday 2 out of the last 3 years?
I know In the past it always was but even that didn't seem to fit recently.

Looking at South's draw:

Good Friday at home. The inaugural tongue in cheek “Integrity Cup” bout in Round 4. Depending on your opinion, “practice games” in round 7 and 8 followed by a week off due to state game. Need to have the vocal chords working when the Eagles visit in Round 5.

Why isnt the schedule set for round 17 and 18?

We know when the AFL games are played those weekends.

All those night games and none at Elizabeth.

And a single match with a 12:10pm start? What's up with that? :?

They'll set those in the last few weeks to try and ensure a great round of football with games shaping the finals to be played last, and to ensure tv coverage of the biggest games of the round.

Just guessing.

Central didn't want any night matches, they lose too much money - that is what Kris Grant said at the recent AGM...

The 12:10pm game will be for the Channel 7 Mate television coverage. They obviously want their SANFL game televised and finished before their AFL game goes to air over on 7...

But it's the only game of the year that has a 12.10 start... You'd think there would be more than one if they want to make quick transition to the AFL match.
