Norwood dominated all night and the scoreboard flattered Port.

Some real pretenders in that side and they will not be a threat to the better sides this year. I never knew Renouf was such a bad player

Lack of forward line cost us as expected. Midfield was a lot poorer in getting the ball out of stoppages and delivering it than I expected. Oh well. Guess the doomsdayers were wrong.

McGuiness voted BOG by 45% of the voters in the TV supporters poll.
Panos also a great game to come 2nd and voted BOG by Ginever.

I was disappointed when Henry Slattery chose Port over coming back to Westies, BUT thank you Henry for choosing Port.

I tend to agree port have nothing up forward. When is Butcher going to come back to SANFL so Port have someone to kick to

- The crowd at Coopers Stadium East at Norwood (as opposed to Coopers Stadium West at Hindmarsh) was 6,354. (Thanks Big Phil)

Recent Norwood v Port night crowds at the Parade

2013 Round 1 - 7,750 (Easter Thursday Night)

2013 Round 18 - 4,197

2012 Round 18 - 6,050

2011 - Round 8 - 7,298

2010 - Round 5 - 6,665

So given it was a school night & on live TV for the first time, I think officials would be happy with the turn up.

norwood always had 2-3 guys around the ball, they do play their oval very well. They will be a very hard side to beat at home. I thought we had a better deal with the umps but seriously they are shocking. Bring on the bays next week, we'll be better then we where tonight.

Now que the post about how we don't want to win.

Good win by Norwood. Power Reserves had a decent run around the oval and got no major injuries, so they'll be considering the match a win as well.

The match definitely highlighted what an exciting time the 2 AFL sides have made the SANFL...

If he keeps playing like he did on the weekend he won't be.

Norwood dominated parts of the game but still only won by 19 points, both teams missed easy shots. Port will finish games strongly, Norwood better then i expected. Not yet willing to concede i was wrong in my prediction that port will be very good this year. They where playing there first real game together against the reigning premier at home. Next week might give a better perspective.

No, the fact that Port people don't care the Magpies lost is proof the doomsayers were spot on.

We still have several to come back into the mix. Port are already at close to full strength, couple of injuries and they will fall right back to the pack

Port didn't look like kicking a goal all night.

They wont get much better either.

I already have in the 2014 predictions thread.

For some reason it was good to see the SANFL on commercial TV, which is weird because I never watch commercial TV.

Very surprised with the result.

A positive spin on a drop off of 15% on the corresponding fixture from last year is a big ask.

Well done on giving it a crack though.
