Be interesting to know how close said expectoration got to opposing player.

Nup, can't agree.

Ala the introduction of the blood rule, direct transference of bodily fluids is something that should be taken seriously. Spitting on the ground is one thing. Spitting directly at people is inexcusable.

How effective the attempt was? Not really the point.

Shouldnt every player be suspended every week then?
Geezus, Jimmy Allan should get life for vomitting in the direction of an opponent!

I realise this post is tongue in cheek, but, this action certainly warrants a notable holiday, in my view.

I'm only going on what the report said - spitting near.
As I said, it would be interesting to see how close that spit came.

Fair enough, I'm going on what Wedgie said - "spitting in the direction of".

As I said, in that case, not good enough.

Yes, remember the SANFL has stated on their website he got two games for spitting in the direction of another player, not spitting at another player.

Realise that, and I see your point.

But "at" "in the direction of", "with a vector of expulsion suited to the intended arrival of expectorant at another person's roughly approximated global co-ordinates relative to one's own."

Take your pick.

I have seen it up close on replay and the spit was both in the direction of and made contact with the Port player Sid Masters...

Well, spit on a bloke, you deserve what you get.

Interesting though, two games for spitting, in the AFL a player gets the same penalty for biting.

How many games in total has Clint been suspended for?, he must be getting close to a permanent ban which could cost him thousands in bush footy payments.

I think that only takes him to 11 games suspension in total.

I do know that he is a surprising number of games away from the life ban.

Nothing to lose, I guess...

Wonder if he will retire, should the appeal not be successful?
