Glenelg get Henley High?
What a shock - this former Junior is sad :(
Henley & Grange have been Eagles Heartland as long as I can remember - as kids we played for Torrens on Saturday & Henley on Sunday.

What do we think of the rezoning?

Well with the Eagles pushing into Alberton you can't have your cake and eat it.....

All clubs shift their boundaries North.

Port Adelaide still retain the naming rights sponsorship to now Norwood's major country zone recruiting carnival used to select the Country U/15 team.....

Glenelg mafia at it again
At least Sturt kept their traditional zone when they looked like losing it

Good for us to have Golden Grove, from where we purchased the Menzels (from my understanding). It also means our recruiters get to see a lot of the college kids who come from the Gawler/Barossa and Hillbank to play for Golden Grove on Sunday.

However, we missed Salisbury and Salisbury West?

The rezoning leaves the Eagles will a significant identity issue.

I'm yet to see the actual map of the new zones but from what I've read I wonder whether it is still appropriate to call ourselves Woodville - West Torrens anymore.

This sort of stuff gets you into that circular loop of what a club means and what it represents.

As someone who grew up supporting the team in their local area this major shift raises a lot of issues. We've had a lot of players come from the suburbs I know so well. To suddenly have such a big shift makes me ponder how I will continue to identify with the club.

Every action has it's consequences.

Get rid of the 'West Torrens' - Woodville only is more appropriate now.
Particularly with the 'old' West Torrens feeder suburbs (Flinders Park, Henley, Grange, Lockleys, etc) now West Adelaide zoned.

Eagles in logo only, now.

So will some of these PAFC supporters finally now admit the Magpies are finally KAPUT DEAD NADA ??????

A 143 years of Magpie teamS history and zones destroyed !!!

Well done SANFL you really have excelled in destroying a once great competition.

RIP Magpies.

Not sure what choice there was here. This was really just a matter of time once Port tried to join the AFL. Once they get in, eventually they consolidate their AFL and SANFL identities and from there it's simply untenable to maintain recruiting zones. No other way to divide it either, save a little tweaking here and there. This is just the nature of a zone based competition with a bunch of clubs congested in the western suburbs.

Umm, it was Ports choice to have a reserves team not the SANFL's, they gave them the option. Port were well down that path over the previous few years when stacking the Magpies with "disgruntled" players mini drafted to other clubs. Port could've honoured their Magpie heritage and kept them as a wholistic SANFL team that competed under the same SANFL salary cap....they chose not to.
Bit rich to blame the SANFL for that.

West will be spewing about losing Aberfoyle Park, which includes the Happy Valley FC, been a very happy hunting ground for them for the past couple of decades.

I presume a school located in Aberfoyle Park will now be in the South Adelaide school footy program? (Currently with West)

Good result for South indeed.

Nowhere near the number of kids in that area as when it was the happy hunting ground for West. South still feel cheated by missing out on that area when it was at its peak.
