The tackle machine had a staggering 20 tackles on the weekend, after having 18 earlier in the season to equal the league-wide records I have in the past five years. Could well be an all-time record but my records only go back to the start of 2011 so perhaps Phil Herden can go back further?

Reinbrecht has had 52 tackles in 5 matches and isn't far off his disposal tally of 68, so that's 1.3 touches per tackle. Outrageous!

For comparisons sake, the AFL record by an individual player is 19.

And as a side note, a Glenelg U/18 player racked up 24 on the weekend while another ended up with 20 in a highly scrappy affair played under lights in awful conditions on Sat night at Richmond. That match did have 250+ tackles and 150+ stoppages, though.
