CENTRAL
Central is poised to reward the hard work of Brendan Dew by elevating him for his league debut against Sturt at Playford Alive Oval on Saturday.
The clever midfielder – who measures in at 178cm and 70kg – played every game for the McDonald’s SA Under-18 team this year.
Not related to Bulldogs premiership star Stuart, Dew won last year’s Macca’s Cup MVP award as the best player in the Under-18 competition.
‘’He’s performed very well in the Reserves and he definitely deserves his spot,’’ Central chief executive Kris Grant said of Dew.
‘’He does absolutely everything right and always does extra work to improve himself so we are very happy for him.’’
He has been joined in the Bulldogs’ 23-man squad by forward Nick Gillard, ruckman Ben Mabon and utility Sam Milne.
Big man Jacob Olsson and defender Josh Waldhuter have been sent back to the Reserves.

STURT
Sturt could call upon two players for the first time at league level this year for the clash against Central at Playford Alive Oval on Saturday.
Key forward Matt Duldig and utility Dylan Matsen haven’t appeared under coach Seamus Maloney in season 2015 but have been added to the five-man extended interchange bench.
Former Geelong goalsneak Brad Hartman and utility Will Paynter have also been included in the Double Blues’ 23-man squad.
Former Norwood forward Mark Evans will miss one match after accepting an early guilty plea for striking West’s Taite Silverlock last Saturday while Jarrod Lienert was sent back to the Reserves.
Lead ruckman Angus Kurtze must pass a fitness test on his back after failing to play the second half against the Bloods in Round 16.

I actually think this will be a really good contest. Surely with the Dogs having finals on the line and home ground it sways favouritism to them.

I ran into an old dogs supporter yesterday and gave him some free tickets. Glad I did, he was ecstatic and started barking at me and firing up for his beloved "Doggies". The passion is certainly still there for that old dog.

Duldigs 1st senior game this year, and will it be his last season?
Will want to have a real go. Hated him when he played North
I think whoever wants it more will win in a pretty evenly matched game
I'll go Sturt by 5-10 points

You seem to hate everyone and everything. The SANFL, your team, your board, the inept players, the ex coach, it goes without saying the Reserves and now Matty.

Just curious as to why you would hate him. Doesn't play dirty, is a good sport and as nice a bloke as there is in football.

No I don't
Hated him playing against North as he always seemed to kick a bag full
Don't hate him as a player or a person. I don't know him,..
Think you've misunderstood my meaning

As for the rest, show me where I hate my team, my board, the SANFL??
Won't argue about the reserves though but I'm not alone on that one

Ok fair call even good call. I'm surprised he hasn't been playing ones. Cops it cause he starts in the goal square but is a good honest player. I understand that sentiment completely. Good player and even better bloke.

As for the second one I think your hatred for the Reserves spills over at times into other SANFL discussions but I was dramatising for forum effect. That happens around these parts. ;)

I've wondered why he hasn't had a start this year. Maybe the Sturt coach just doesn't rate him?? Always a good goal sneak even if he always looks overweight for a footballer.

Matt's had a fair bit of injury this year at an unfortunate time - just when he would've pressed for league selection.

That's right knowledge. He showed good form early, right when Sturt were playing well, and I think was named on an extended interchange once or twice, then had an injury just when he became impossible to overlook. It's perhaps his experience that can lend a bit of consistency to our game. It's been a funny old season for us. Looked up to have had improved then lost 6 in a row. Mind you a few of them were gallant losses but I reckon we should have been better given how strong we were in stages last year.
Bring on the dogs and let's go in all guns blazing. Hope the Duldig factor spurs us on.

Kicked 11 in a game earlier this year and hasn't played in the 1s and is a proven goal kicker and honest contributor. Any wonder the Blues are going to finish 9th

Get the feeling there is one eye on next year which this weeks team which makes sense. Destiny is not in our hands and South needs to win 1 game to make finals this year impossible for Centrals. Still there is hope and I like the Ins this week.

Centrals 15 points.

Kicked 5.2 out of 10.3 to make his non selection throughout the season look very average if not farcical.

Well done Big Dulds
