Round 8 West Adelaide v North Adelaide Friday 1920

The Bloods host the Roosters in the first Friday night game of the season. Everything points to a North win given the form of both sides but under the lights at Richmond could suit West. That said, I still think the Roosters have too much class around the ground.

North by 28 points.

North to continue with another win, although never easy at Richmond and I think there's a chance of rain which may tighten the margin.

Going to be weird not being able to stand on the decking and drink, shame as it's one of the best spots in SA to watch footy.
Could be an ugly night as I have tomorrow off so will have a few at the Royal beforehand.

Bloody strong team that one, probably our best all year. No excuses.

Yes, and with Alex Barns, Clisby, and Hartung the remaining big name players to return. Hopefully the first two can make next week's side, since in the following three weeks we play Norwoods, Glenelgs, and the Eagles.

I've heard Hartung might not be back, hope what I heard was wrong though.

Surjan said on Rooster TV that Hartung isn't too many weeks away from being back. I had heard he wouldn't be back too.
Hewett is another player who would make our best side and can't be far off.
McInerney is gone for the year and Wohling may be as well.

We've definately got a lot of depth this year, more than I can remember for a long time.

WA 11.9 (75)
NA 11.10 (76)

Haysman missed from 40 out, directly in front at the 26 minute mark which would have in all likelihood given Westies the win.

North were very, very fortunate to bag the win on Friday night. Westies deserved the points - they really pressured us in the third and some of the fourth, and some of the much vaunted names in our forward line didn't offer much at all (thank God for Will Combe and his forward cameo at the end). Unsurprisingly, the dewy conditions (at least that what it seemed like on the digital pass) didn't suit North either. A bigger effort will be required to fend off Norwood this week, who'll be keen to win and stay in the finals race.

I reckon there's plenty of positives for the Bloods out of this game, they'd have pulled off a massive upset of one of the two shots on goals in the last few minutes had gone through. They clawed themselves back onto the game after being down at half time, applied solid pressure throughout the match and had the measure of North's forwards. It should give Colville plenty of confidence that his charges can compete against sides who are at least stronger on paper.
