Round 13 Glenelg v Centrals Saturday 1610.

What a shit time to schedule a match. What the **** is wrong with 1410?

Anyhow, both sides coming off a loss. Glenelg beat Centrals by 33 points earlier this year. Centrals have an impressive 50% record at the Bay. No new injury concerns for Centrals but Glenelg may lose Andrew Bradley which would hurt.

Just think that Glenelg will have to be better than last week and the drive they get when playing well from Snook and Partington will be hard for Centrals to stop.

Not at all confident but early tip Glenelg.

Nothing wrong with an occasional 4:10 start. 8)

Glenelg now 5-1 against teams below them and 2-4 against teams above, and could easily have been 0-6.

Central below Glenelg, therefore Glenelg wins this one.

Finals (should they be made) are going to be a whole 'nother kettle of fish...

Couldn’t agree more, ridiculous time to start a match.
Glenelg should be well rested after their bye last week & win well.

Would like to think we could be competitive in this game.Going to be hard for us , expecting a big response from Glenelg after last week and they have to much at stake to let it slip.

You got the reference. Glenelg seem to like celebrating the worst day in Centrals history. Let's celebrate the 45th anniversary.

I've been trying to forget this for 45 years, I was there that day, stayed to the end. Only time I cheered was when the 50th goal shot hit the post.
It keeps coming up and is mentioned quite often. Thoiught I would mention it before someone else does. Never heard so much about the previous record. The most shameful disgraceful day in CDFC history.

As an aside, didn't Centrals score the first goal of the match that day?

The score of 11.13 that the Dogs kicked would be enough to win most games these days.

Pretty sure they did.
They met earlier in the year at Footy Pk, scores were
Glenelg 33.14 212
Centrals 9.17 71

It was John "Snout" MacFarlane who hit the post (last kick of the game?). Copped a lot of $hit from the Tiger fans for missing out on 50 goals.
At some anniversary of the game Snout reenacted the kick and hit the post again!

Nope, other post. So on average he split the centre. 8)

Glenelg could include a versatile utility for his first game in more than 12 months to confront Central at ACH Group Stadium.

Tom Schott, who suffered a serious knee injury in Round 17 last year, has been named on the extended interchange after playing the past two matches in the Reserves.

The former West Adelaide player has been joined in the Tigers’ 25-man squad by premiership defender Brad McCarthy, who has been listed on the wing.

Reid Kuller, Finn Betterman, Angus Weir and Tom Condon have also been named among the seven players on the bench, which must be trimmed by three before the bounce.

Experienced veterans Andrew Bradley (cheekbone) and Brad Agnew (ankle) succumbed to injuries in Round 12 against the Eagles while Jackson Edwards was omitted.

CENTRAL

Central has made three adjustments to its 22 to tackle Glenelg at ACH Group Stadium.

Experienced pair Kyle Jenner and David Haydon have been joined by key back Rhett Mongomerie in the line-up.

They replace injured pair Kyle Presbury (calf) and Darcy Pisani (foot) while Nick Madden was sent back to the Reserves.

Taking an average of 30 seconds of time to return the ball to the center after each goal, 49 + 11 = 60 goals = 30 minutes of extra time. Even 20 seconds to return the ball to the center will create 20 mins of time on. That's a whole extra quarter of football.

Pity the boundary umpires at that game.

96 scoring shots, pity the goal umpires too! And we know the centre bounce isn't easy, and there were 64 of them. One umpire in those days?
