Kapplers shut down on Stengle yesterday was very effective. To come into the side for his first game of the season and be named in the best is a job well done. Stengle also appears to have a calf injury.

Jarrad Redden in the ruck for the Eagles is very hard to beat in getting hitouts but his effectiveness around the ground diminishes rapidly as he can not get around. Not sure if the Eagles have any other ruck options at the present?

Tsiatis, Knight, Sinor and Lonergan get plenty of it and tackle as well as anyone. As good a midfield as anyone's.

The Menzel brothers looked quick on the lead and a combined 6 goals hurt us. What did not hurt us though and was very evident was neither of them were prepared to chase and tackle once South got the ball. That said they were the two that presented on the lead the most often and it helps if playing that style to be one on one.

South kicked the ball badly at times yesterday, a reflection of the pressure perhaps. I thought O'Neil was our best and I would think we have recruited a very handy player. Gibbs has become the master of absorbing the off the ball pressure then getting it and using to advantage. Tarca in kicking 4 goals was well held and like the Menzels made his limited disposals count. Special mention to plug a hole Alex Cailotto. His efforts off the ball opened up the play for us. He kept attracting an opponent who had to come off his man which left us with an extra going forward. Worked tirelessly.

A great win for the very patient Panther supporters. A tight one which in times gone by we would lose emphatically. I agree O'neill BOG in my opinion, tough as teak in close and lightening quick with ball in hand. Cailotto, clearly under sized in every match he plays ;but plays with great heart and his second efforts around the ground are inspiring.Skinner played his best game for the club and Tarca made the most of his opportunities up forward. Gibbs and Broady were there usual solid selves and the kids, Horne and Roberts were very good.
WWT were well served by the Menzels, and Tsitas ,Knight and Goldsworthy.

Looking forward to the rest of the season..

South if they aren’t outright favourites already to confirm it next week.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Yes I meant the next round

F*** the Crows v Melb, this game should be moved to a Saturday and broadcast on Ch7

As flag favourites if South can’t draw a crowd against the club with biggest support in the Holdfast Bay and Onkapringa Council areas they should shut up shop. The SFL is crap footy anyway!

A very satisfying win at Woodville which does not happen often for South.
Just a great game to watch with both teams having opportunities to win it.
Nic Schwarz bobbed up in the last with two crucial and quality goals to get the lead out to beyond two goals.
I thought Troy Menzel was excellent for the Eagles and Tsitas doesn’t stop.
A very even performance from the Panthers including young Matty Roberts in his first game.
Very pleasing to kick 15.9 and win a tough encounter away from home.
The week off will be nice to rest, reflect and reset for the big game against the raging premiership favourites!
Go Panthers!

The Bays, the short price undefeated Premiership Montes yet again find a way to get it done.
Just thinking what could have been....2019 Premiers and 2021 Premiers and if you had a coach in 2020 who was perhaps a little more.... "amiable" ...it would be a hat trick!

Bloody Hell, it’s been an interesting year on here this year,

We’ve had Eagles fans having a crack at clubs with supporters

We’ve had South fans having a crack at Premiership coaches!

Strange days indeed, most peculiar Momma, Strange days indeed....

South played well and were much more efficient than us. However I was always expecting us to kick away at some point because I did think we had more of the footy with more shots for goal but for whatever reason just could not convert.

Most of our players contributed today and we definitely managed to string together some good passages of play reminiscent of last year so maybe things are slowly starting to come together. I thought the move of Cameron to defence was an interesting one. He seemed to play pretty well there but wondered whether we might have been better suited with him up forward? Both Menzels showed how dangerous they can be when given room to move in the forward lines and kicking to them on a lead. Redden much better and his ruckwork was great. Lonergan made a huge difference in the centre with his tough, in-close ball winning ability - just need him to stop getting injured every few weeks!! Beecken looked really good in his first game - the kid has a bit of class about him and I hope he gets a couple of games in a row. Our defence wasn't great and leaked too many goals to their little guys. Tarca far too good for Mead who I am yet to be convinced is League standard. Kerrish would be lucky to hold his spot next week. We really need to tighten up because we have had four highest total score kicked against us in the competition which is concerning.

The break couldn't come at a better time for us. Hopefully upon return we can get McFarlane and Much back with West not far behind. Lets get them back in the team, reset, then hit the second half of the season hard.
