Dogs will be sweating on one player who didnt see out the last quarter with a soft tissue injury. Hopefully not major.
Plenty of lads in form in the ressies who can be called upon if required. Splann and Cowham probably the first in line.
Also hopeful that Weaver, Habel, Carroll and Beau Thomas will all be ready to play in the Ressies game on Friday night. Makes for some very hard calls made at selection in the Twos.

For the Magpies, Visentini will miss, which means Lycett will probably be called on to do the lions share of work in ruck.

On the Crows website it has a qualifcation update. Says 16 players max, must have played more sanfl than afl, and 3 sanfl games in the last half of the season. Lycett has played 12 afl games so shouldn't qualify. My lad reckons they'll only have about 12 qualified, looking through their squad and those rules.

I am sure Port will seek exemption for Lycett as he is returning from injury.
Will certainly be easier for our rucks if he and Visentini are outs

Those rules don't apply if the AFL team is still in the finals?

Yes, this is my concern and I can't find the rules.

Which confirms Lycett can play, and McKenzie or Dixon if good to go.

So, basically if a port professional played against Richmond, they're ineligible. Don't know why Francis Evans is mentioned in an article on the sanfl website as he doesn't qualify under any of the rules?

Frankie Evans can't play this week but has qualified should he not be selected in the AFL side next week, if the SANFL side beat Centrals this week.
He has played 11 SANFL games and 10 AFL games, tick.
He has played 3 or more SANFL games in the 2nd half of the SANFL season, tick.

Ahh, thanks. That makes sense. I wrongly assumed as he'd played 10 AFL games, he could only have played 8 to 9 sanfl as we have 18 rounds, but of course the AFL have more rounds. Cheers

I think Grace has to play. Dudley could be forward or back, I'd probably start forward. I'd bring Cowham in for Dahms (unlucky, but disposal an issue). I think Barreau can be a match winner, but a bit out of form (not sure if could displace Shaw). I'd be interested in Northerners thoughts?
We need Hoskin playing. Hopefully, we tag Mead this time, he's too damaging.

Mead dominated first term - only fair after that.

Dudley looked ok down back in the last half.

Need Jez further up the field. dont like him getting under utilized on the last line

Grace was not Amazing last week... ha... but what he brings to the team cannot be underestimated. He works very hard and organises others around him. And team mates feed off his passion.
Dudley was outstanding in the second half down back, the best he's looked at League level IMO. He should start there, but can always move fwd (easier than staring attack then switching back). Our defence has been superb all year. Jezza Hosko and Billy work brilliantly as springboards to attack, allowing Little Kendall and Buechner to do their nullifying.

If Hosko isnt fit, who comes in? Splann maybe? Barreau would play in our best team but, you are right, isn't playing great atm.
I dont see Cowham as a like for like for Dahms who played as a defender of mid sized fwds. His inclusion has allowed us to free Pres up for the midfield, which is a definite bonus.
