Good but not great biopic - probably the toughest film to make.

If you like The Man in Black's music then you just have to see this.

The scenes in Folsom Prison are something.

But nothing beats the moment when he effectively becomes 'The Man in Black' on his way up to the record company offices.

Saw this a couple of weeks ago. My wife is a huge fan of his. I can take or leave his music but I really enjoyed this film. Well worth seeing. I also liked the way they covered a certain period of his life rather than try to cram his whole life into one movie (which most biopics do).
My favourite scene was where he was singing a Gospel song at his Sun audition and Sam Phillips is looking at him like he is retarded.Sam Phillips certainly had an eye for talent didn't he? How much talent did he have signed up on the Sun Label???

Really liked the last few albums he did with Rick Rubin (producer of Cult, Beastie Boys etc). Mostly covers but slightly left field ones.
His version of Nine Inch Nails' 'Hurt' (and the amazing video that goes with it) is spine tingling.

Saw the movie last night and thoroughly enjoyed it ... Acting and story were good, and it's always nice to learn a bit more from a historical point of view

One disappointing thing about the movie - where was A Boy Named Sue?.
