Life As A House was on Foxtel early this morning. For some reason, my wife enjoys it when movies make me a little teary.

Django Unchained.

I usually hate movies that get heaps of hype, so didnt watch this when it came out.

I watched it on Foxtel on Saturday night, and really enjoyed it. John Jarrott pissed me off though. Worst actor in history.

Who did he play in it?

Agree though I saw this in Gold Class and it was amazing. Tarantino magic!

One of the guys transporting Django to the mining company. The one with the ridiculously prominent Australian accent. I realise he's supposed to be Australian in it, but it sounds like he's taking the piss.

Just watched the Lone Ranger and was pleasantly suprised by how good it was. Didn't see it at the cinema as I didn't think Johnny Depp would do Tonto justice but he along with Silver stole the show. Well worth Foxtels $5.50 charge :)

I'm the same in regards to watching movies once the hype has died down.
There was lots to like about Django. However....I felt like I was just watching an antebellum version of Inglorious Basterds (which I absolutely loved).
It felt like the same story to me, or at least many similar facets.

Too long. Took too long to get to the story. They've turned Tonto into a mental case.
It was entertaining, I'll admit, but not as good as I could've hoped.
I don't get why Tonto had to be retelling the story to the kid? What was the point?

I watched Goon last night.
Predictable but had its moments.
Some of the camera work was innovative - the puck scenes, along with some of the fight scenes.
SW Scott played the same role he has in every film he's ever been in - the oaf.

There are quite a few movies made about ice hockey - why are they always semi-pro players in the movie? Never seems to be a movie about the big leagues...

Absolutely hated Ball's Out.
In fact, after BO (which stank!), had I known SW Scott was in Goon, I probably wouldn't have watched it.
So, I was pleasantly surprised when I kind of liked it.
Alison Pill, from Newsroom, was in it as well - what is it about her that appeals? I can't put my finger on it, although I'd like to...
