Tintin

Who was a fan of this comic?
I'm thinking about collecting all of these- only problem is, they've been made "PC".
They were originally peppered with comments that are now considered racist..

They've been censored? In my edition of Le Lotus Bleu, a character explicitly refers to an asian character as a "dirty chink".

Tintin (also with a few animated films & talk of a live action one to it's credit) was created by Herge in Belgium

Sadly it looks like Tintin, amongst others, has fallen victim to the PC/racist police.

http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/ ... 062157.ece

Shame people seem to be so over-sensitive these days. As a child I had a toy golliwog as seen in the Noddy books but I certainly didn't become a racist. Takes a lot more than a cartoon character or a kids toy to create one. As well as the 'offences' mentioned in the article I also believe that Snowy has been pictured smoking a cigar at least once so that would need to be changed too of course.

The way we're going, harking back to our childhoods, I may have to start a thread about Biggles. Another veteran of the PC battle.

Vinegar on chips is sensational, just ahead of gravy, then sauce. Mayo = homo man milk...
