No, it rang a bell to me also - and we're both right:

Tim Evans, IIRC, also did musical spots on Graham Kennedy's "Coast To Coast" in the late 80's to early 90's, and indeed, Ron Barassi was the referee on Almost Anything Goes.

Nice one CK. 70s / early 80s kiddies TV was the best!

Was Tim Evans also a judge on one of those talent shows like Pot Luck or something like that?

Naahhh...they're LATE 80s - a world of difference from EARLY 80s FC ;)

It's like comparing the Chanel Niners with Dean Davis, Helen Woods & Winky Dink to C'mon Kids when they brought in Winky's cousin Frank with a mohawk! I never quite recovered...

I think the problem with the current show especially for South Australian viewers is that not having state sides means it loses that element of having a team to support which gave the show alot of its excitment especially for me anyway.

Watched it the other night and for me there was no care factor i didnt care what happened because the teams didnt affect me in anyway except for the Maccas team because thats one big running advert for McDonald.

Bring back the states and it may bring back the excitement imho.

I liked watching the original, I just hope that this stands up to it, unlike that other comeback show calling itself 'It's a Knockout'

Somehow the pathetic Team Maccas managed to push Victoria on the champions wall, but Victoria scrape home in the 3rd place playoff.

The Grand Final between NSW and Queensland is on Friday night.

I've enjoyed It's a Knockout but having the same 4 teams for the whole series became quite monotonous - exacerbated by the dominance of Queensland and the constant poor showings by Team Maccas.

In what has been a disastrous non-ratings period for 10, It's a Knockout is the only channel 10 show to make the top 100 in both Adelaide and nationally

The Grand Final was much closer than expected, with Queensland taking a 12-10 lead going into the final round, but they had an easy win on the Champions Wall to win the Billy J Smith Cup, ad $15 000 for Surf Life Saving Queensland.

So far I must say I'm loving the new YTT, though did they do the auditions in public housing estates with all the bogan spelling of the YTT cast members names

Thought the first episode lived up to expectations and it should go well, be interesting how the ratings go.
