old tv shows

Postby bayman » Mon Nov 06, 2006 6:52 pm

i've bought on dvd some old tv shows that i used to watch as a kid, & i've watched them with little bayman (7yo) the first is 'the adventures of superman' goerge reeves the 2nd is 'the cisco kid' duncan renaldo & leo carrillo & the 3rd which lb hasn't seen yet is 'lost in space' anyway i cant believe how much lb loves the first two he has seen & the cisco kid is the first western he has seen & is right into it as he is with superman & he loves 'the three stooges' as well but he has watched them for a long while now

so i pose this if these shows were back on tv (for kids) would they be better to watch than playing playstations ?
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

The concept of good beating evil was depicted a fair bit in the
old programmes/cartoons
A lot of those shows were harmless.
As for playstations ?? ok I guess.

Little feMALe watches flintstones, top cat, the jetsons.
She enjoys my collection of Lost In Space videos.
We go to markets looking for memoribillia on the Flintstones in particular.

She enjoys Spongebob, Lizzy Mcguire and Josh+Drake of the modern shows.

My little one watches Wiggles videos made in the mid '90s. Does that count?

Me, I have a collection of Blake's 7 and Minder DVDs, and a small number of 1950s era B-grade sci fi flicks 8)

Bring back Tom and Jerry!!

I also like Allo!!! Allo!!! and Steptoe and Son. A team, tour of duty, Mash (yes already on).
These would be better seeing every few weeks repeats than new eposiods of Big Brother, Survour and Dancing with Stars.

BAYMAN

young kids should be out running around the backyard kicking the footy, playing games like we all did.
but when its time to watch tv bring back all those old programs and include time tunnel, land of the giants and gilligan's island :D

Classic scene with Ted and Bruno...

BRUNO: For the last time, Teddles - I'm Australian.
TED: Where were you born?
BRUNO: Wagga!
TED: That'd be right!

Just don't mention 'Bullpit.' The less said about that the better...

One of my favorites of all time remains Blankety Blanks. Bought the first DVD box set recently, with 30 episodes. The lightning wit of Graham Kennedy is still brilliant, and a great panel to bounce off constantly. Hard to imagine Mark Holden was ever that young. Well worth a look also for some hilarious fashions - one bloke looks like he's come in fresh from the Birdman Rally, with his collar..

"Dick was riding through the forest"
"How tall was Dick?"
"Oh, about 6"8"
"Big Dick"

Can you guess where I'm calling from, the Las Vegas Hilton...

I was just watching a few episodes on UK TV yesterday, the kids loved them and were singing "Gooodies, goody goody yum yum" all around the house!

Mrs Wedgie went to a fancy dress party as Witcheypoo from HR Pufenstuff once and everyone knew straight away which character it was, I was suprised there was so many HR Pufenstuff viewers!
