Or maybe could do a deal for Reid. Cripps wont be there for the next tilt at a flag, get maximum chips for him now and he's not a teacher
He is one of the most over rated players in the comp, he is a poor captain and leader. You listen to him speak when he's on 360, the lights are on but no ones home, how can he teach anyone anything. The best player doesnt make the best Captain. And dont give me "he's won 2 brownlows" as an argument to shoot me down. We all rate umpiring so highly these days dont we?
I think the over the top love for Cripps from within the club stifles the development of others.

As much as I love Cripps I do agree with you.
But he’s not over rated though as he’s won 2 Brownlows but he isn’t the best captain going around.
Problem is we have no one else to be captain.
I’d give it to Weitering but he’s not the sharpest tool in the shed either.
Walsh has probably stalled a bit as he was a future captain when he started

Someone like Hewitt could be Captain? But there is a massive leadership hole after him and Weitering? I dont think anyone under 28 has potential leader tag. There isnt any young player that you could say will develop into one of your best 6 players within 3 years and thats a problem, most of the young players in the squad you wouldnt be able to guarentee are still playing AFL in 3 years time. Walsh, Smith, Campos, Lord are about all i would give you.

Hewitt is a B grader at best.
I’d almost give it to Charlie Curnow to see if he can take the next step in his footy as currently he’s going backwards
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

I'm not convinced he's the answer. one good year in Brisbane out of five, and Carlton aren't improving under his reign. Nine years as a head coach for a 3 & 3 finals record kinda sums him up.

Took over in 2022 :

2022 - 12 wins, 10 losses
2023 - 15 wins, 1 draw, 10 losses, lost the prelim

Stability brings success. Sacking coaches doesn't work. Never has, never will. What we need to do is put the right people around him and give him time. No doubt, knowing us, that will mean we give him 4 weeks and we start again, again.

Right now the whole club seems like a write off, every player looks like a useless spud, and im not even a negetive person lol

whatever the coaches are selling to the players its not working and its not igniting any energy to be hungry or want to simply play kick ass fun footy

Theyre all heavy headed and in a rutt and dragging a ball and chain around

There are players there that would go all australian at the right club with the right system. Imagine cripps at Geelong, or even gold coast now

Weitering at collingwood, walsh at collingwood or even brisbane.

I think young is a tremendous defender, as is Nick Haynes (he would slot in nicely at the crows)

Jesse motlop & Adam saad would have the time of their lives at a top 8 club

Even zac williams at Gold coast, hardwick would put a rocket up him

even Silvagni is now starting to blossom into what his dad used to be able to do

Look at Kennedy at western bulldogs right now

curnow you gotta send him down back or something, his marsh mellow roll now, hes just a baby with mummy watching in the stands going its ok sweetie what ever you do is lovely youll still have your roast with mummy on sunday

Harry mckay, and cerra get them out - theyre useless and a burden to the team

==> i mean put nathan buckley in there as coach with ken hinkley in the background, and piss voss off please lol, even longmire....at least theyre not hot headed rangas sipping red wine every night (maybe lol)

Hunger has to come from within. It shouldn't be up to coaches to instil hunger. That's 99% of our problem. Our players are happy being mediocre AFL players. We need to draft 'quality by foot' like Jagga Smith. What we don't need is someone who can run the house down but can't kick. We also need to develop our existing stock, not let them 'exist' like we clearly have to date.

Make players earn their spots and their contracts
I know Harry has some issues he’s working through but we all have problems and still front up for work
