Talk on the national game

Interesting. They obviously decided to rest him up when it was clear the game was gone.

Still noticed Jacobs winning more of the hitouts when it was those two contesting, which was a big change from early in the year when Nic Nat thrashed him (though there were other factors at play in that game obviously)

Had a couple of fingers strapped together at training earlier this week, didn't look, like anything serious.

Well,at the start of the year and after 23 rounds, I didnt think we would have finished the season sitting in 2nd position. No excuses, we have put ourselves in a position to have a decent crack at it this time around
I can't wait for this Friday night, I want to see how we hold up under finals pressure against the reigning premiers in front of our home crowd.
Masten out is annoying, but we welcome back Schofield, which should released Yeo back unto the midfield. I expect Selwood to replace Masten.
Selwood must go to Sam Mitchell, ripped us apart after half time when we last met. Another match up I think wouldn't hurt would be Rosa tries to lock down Jordan Lewis. He is their link man and like Mitchell, must limit their impact because neither can be shut down completely.
The Ace in the pack is Nic Nat. We missed him and Sinclair last time we played the Hawks and it's an area we can hopefully take full advantage of.
Likely Team

Butler. Schofield , Wellingham
Sheppard, McGovern, Hurn
Rosa, Priddis. Gaff
Lecras. Darling Yeo
Sinclair. Kennedy. Cripps

Nic Nat. Hill
Shuey. Sheed
Selwood. Hutchings
Ellis

Wow.
Anyone see that coming, especially after Priddis pulled out.
All of a sudden our bottom 5 blokes, really stood up.
Hill,Hutchings, Ellis, Butler, McGinnity.
Nic Nat seems to be playing limited time in the ruck. He is so dominate, it annoys me sometimes when he isn't in there. Even though Sinclair is way above average.
Shuey was awesome in the first half. Good to see him do it.
Rosa and Hutchings were excellent.
Whenever Hurn gets 20+ touches! we will rarely lose.
Hawks first 4 goals were from frees or 50s.
Bring on Nth or Richmond.
I'd rather Nth.
Go West Coast.

Well, I didn't expect it, don't think anyone did, but off to the big Dance we go.
Last nights win was exactly what I wanted. A hard, heavy tackle arm wrestle. We took a while to settle, we kicked horribly early, due to the pressure, but we grinded our way through it and started to open the game up as it went on. Still had 30 scoring shots, just missed some real easy ones. A lot of our main ball users where down on numbers. Gaff,Shuey, Hutchings,Yeo all very quiet. Masten looked like he was on a treadmill all night.
Wellingham,Sheppard,Schofield,McGovern and Ellis were super last night. Priddis lifted after 1/4 time, And the difference was Josh Kennedy. What a gun.
Whatever happens next week, Sam Mitchell must be tagged. I don't think they will bring in Selwood, so maybe Rosa gets the job. Must limit his influence.
Nic Nat will dominate the ruck, but Hawks will play a lot smarter this time around.
Really looking forward to it.
Don't think the Hawks are the team they used to be, but we are up against one of the best teams of this era. Are WC mature enough to handle the big stage? I hope so.
Go Eagles

Yep wouldn't be surprised if we see some form of high end investigation into a lot of the going ons during that period throughout all clubs.

I think that period generally coincides with the lifestyle of mobile phones where being publically drunk was far to easy to be found out so players looked for alternative highs which could be hidden better

Chick said they felt invincible and players were being ushered out the back door so they didn't get tested!! No wonder Judd wanted out

They can't actually catch any of the blokes with substances in their system though, so Im not sure how much could be done. The AFL did a pretty good job of sweeping it under the carpet all those years ago. Wasn't just West Coast anyway.
