Willi Rioli has worked out alright for Port hey???!

The bloke who requested a trade here to be closer to his Mother after his Father passed away?

Yes, now, go on......

He can be both damaged goods and requesting a trade for genuine reasons at the same time.

His immediate history wasn't great - would certainly be deemed by some as damaged goods.

Looks to have put that behind him, so it ends well for both player and club..... but you have to admit, there was a calculated risk with him at the time.

31 goals last year in 19 games, 19 in 12 games this year and has looked our most damaging small forward since arriving. So far, so good but what's is a "success" in trade terms? So many measures it's pretty hard to say yes or no.

That's a success then

by any measure the Willie trade has been a success. You argue the toss about how successful but a win for both player and club.

It's difficult to gauge in today's game, averaging 1.6 goals per game for a player that doesn't spend much time outside the forward 50 seems pretty lean in 80 minutes of footy, I think my favourite stat of his is the tackle count, he amassed 20 over a 4 week period not long ago, I'm a big fan of forward pressure acts.

Aided by SPP's absence but probably finishes up with C+ for the season, he does generally use the ball well when he gets it.

Dedj rant …

Why does the AFL still feel the need to overpay an (alleged) ‘entertainer’ to lip sync before the GF?

Not many give a faark, and it adds nothing to spectical.

After match concert, no problem.

Old man syndrome?

Although I do think it is a total waste of money that could be spent far better within the football industry, but I think that every year with whoever they get.

As for those who bag Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Harry Styles etc. They excel in their field and have a positive influence on our younger generation, kind of what the world needs in this day and age.

I think getting Katy Perry is a win win. Reckon the AFL would have got her for 'cheap' because of her latest release bombing, and she would need the good publicity to get back up the charts.

I suspect they would have been in talks with her for a long time.
These deals don't come together overnight.
It needs to fit in with their international touring schedules etc.

I suspect this would have been on the cards for at least a year and it's only the announcement that comes this late.
Danny Southern telling Plugga he's fat, I'd like to see that!

Nothing to do with the artist, it's the concept of paying big money for 2-3 songs before a GF which doesn't add anything. Like I said, after match concert, go for it, but not before the match.

Would say the same thing if it was the Oils or Rollings Stones or Kiss, etc, etc

The "alleged entertainer" bit that confused me then.

I totally agree though, millions of dollars for FA, I gather a lot of patrons at the game would got for a drink, toilet break or a walk at half time and those viewing from home or events usually have the food being ready for half time.
