Sumich would be far from the worst get for either crows or bombers if worsfold goes to the other one.

Was very skeptical when we initially signed him but he had a pretty good year. Will never be a star but can play a role. Did a couple of real good jobs this year. Isnt on huge $ so nothing to lose in giving him another year as we aint pushing for finals soon

Did Little honestly say at the B&F that "we are the envy of the rest of the league?"

Yes, but as usual the media left out bits.
He was talking about how good the facilities are and how good of a financial position we are in.

Melksham could be on his way to Melbourne. But geez Essendon have asked for a bit. They will ask for Howe plus a first round pick.

Might as well start high lol.

That is absolute media BS.
Some bloke rang up SEN with that rumour this morning and they have ran with it.
Negotiations havnt even begun between the clubs as Jake only nominated Melbourne yesterday.
A second rounder at tops is all he is worth

What about trying to get Howe at least if possible? Would be useful.

Not sold on him TBH, would be just another stop gap. We aint going to contest a flag in the next few years so id rather build up a stack of picks, if we could get Melbourne's second (pick 23-24) plus any from Carlisle we need to load up on kids

Is on the short list and has interviewed during the week. Real good developer of players but not a head coach IMO.
I dont think Worsfold is over the line just yet as Burns apparantly interviewed very well and the panel was super impressed with him

Heard that on radio yesterday, interesting if true. Lucky Little is paying the contract, its a fair bit of coin involved on getting both over

So you have a panel interviewing candidates just incase Little can't circumvent this process and get Worsfold with a huge amount of coin?
Be a nice parting gift from Little to get a coach that is just doing it for money to go with all his other great decisions, WADH

Not the case. The panel will do the job its asked to and Little is just stumping up the cash. He has told the board he is leaving when the WADA hearing is over and as a parting gift he would pay the new coaches bill whoever the panel/board select. He has also doubled up Toll's sponsorship for the next 5 years.
Little doesnt have as much power on the board as many think.
FWIW I dont mind a Worsfold/McKenna package but it will cost a fair bit more than Burns or others

If Little is paying for it, it shouldn't matter what it costs. Just get the best people you can

Are you sure you don't want Bassett back, Jim. Please? I think he'd be a wonderful senior coach [-o<
