7th overall in the goal kicking that season, 1 behind Bradshaw & Lecras. Fevola with 89 goals won the coleman. Not a bad season.

did kick 57 goals in 2009. pretty fair effort. injuries have ruined most of his career, and now he is 29 he is slowing down a bit and his best is behind him

What about this then..... I guess I was pointing out I could find a dozen better performances in recent times that were better than that.

Sorry if the truth offends!

so if it wasnt one of the best performances by a small forward in the last 15 seasons that means it wasnt a pretty fair season?

how many small forwards per year kick more than 50 goals? not saying 57 goals makes you best of all time or even all australian, but if thats not a "pretty fair effort" you are a very hard marker.

picking the best performance does not make a decent sample.

guess tom rockliff is having an average season then, he is only 5th overall in the comp for disposals, so as a midfielder that isnt good enough...

Surprised Thompson was omitted, thought he did well.
The poor bloke must be looking at other options next year, reckon he could easily get a game at several clubs

Unlikely, he would see a spot next year when Rutten retires.

Isnt Hartigan being groomed for that position?

Thompson is probably fighting Otten for that medium/tall defender spot more so than Hartigan who takes the big FFs.

Thompson is 196cm. Probably big enough to take on the monsters. Also I feel hes a bit better than Hartigan.

the Eddie betts pocket ?... what the hell were they thinking
for a player who is known to go missing so often.
betts was set up for failure .
Is this another example of the crows now copying port
with the t shirt idea .if betts has kicked hundreds of goals
with the club i could just understand it but what has he kicked from
the Eddie betts pocket 3 goals!?
my god , with the state jumper farce earlier in the year and now this
joke i wonder what's next .
then i see on the news the coach saying betts does not like the
spotlight? ? does anyone talk to each other at west lakes ?
maybe they should have been more concerned with the Jack gunston
goalsquare down the other end .

Tony Hall only kicked 1 from the pocket at Football Park for it to be named after him.

How many did Coventry kick at docklands?

I thought at first glance Hawthorn had filled a bay up with travelling supporters! It was yellow, yellow, yellow from top to bottom and side to side.

I heard Betts may have had some personal issues during the week and the club decided, despite his 200th AFL game, to not "put him up" to the media and give him a low key build up.

So they put his name on the scoreboard, call it the Eddie Betts pocket and give 300 people a shirt with his face on it.....

Way to go guys, that's how to keep it low key. Wankers.......

So you're saying that Port were the first club to hand out t-shirts to fans? Get a grip. The yellow shirts didnt go well with us playing against Hawthorn but it wasnt that bad a peice of marketing.

If you're going to shout "copy cat", point the finger at Port for copying Liverpool's idea re singing at the start of the game. You'll never tear us apart - You'll never walk alone, holding up the scarves as they sing it. Its a great marketing ploy by Port but hardly one they thought up on their own. You'll be hard pressed to find a marketing/PR move by any club that is totally original.

I will say that i agree the state guernsey was pathetic

As mcleod said on the radio, credit to the crows at least the AFL didnt pay for the tshirts
