Think Voss will want to stick with port for at least a premiership and do a mature age apprenticeship at port for at least 2-3 years

Sanderson?? No way please no, the talking head. Why he gets a gig on gameday tv show is odd enough.

Think mick himself needs to hire someone asap to be the next coach or mick lose his job very very soon. Paul roos Goodwin style

How did that work out for him last time at Collingwood?

I sort of came to the defence of Carlton a bit recently, but after last week well, what more can you say. I was surprised that Casibolt was out of the side again, Jones was ok-ish as much as someone could be. Still just my opinion but Casibolt offers a bit more in my opinion.

Its not all doom and gloom. Young Cripps looks a real player and a future star in my opinion. Menzel will be a good mid sized forward that can play a bit of midfield if he can stay on the park, unfortunately something the Menzel family has struggled with.

Mick should just be Carlton's media spokesperson.

You're right Stan, it's not. What we need is good structure, ball movement and some decisiveness around selection. What we're getting is a haphazard approach to all and sundry.

Mick saying (maybe sheepishly) at the start of the season that he's looked through the program and can't find a team that will beat us really rankles me. If he's saying it off the cuff, then please don't.

It makes Mick look like he's overrated our list or doesn't see our deficiencies - when clearly everyone in the media and keyboard warriors can. Do I want someone in charge that breeds false hope?

As it is, some parts of the media are saying that we're not preaching the same message to supporters, media and sponsors. How can you when your coach says things like that out loud?

I'm sure Loguidice and Trigg wouldn't have been laughing like Mick was when he was having a laugh with the media at our expense.

Has played 2 ok-ish games and 1 really good game. Not sure he would be leading Judd or Murphy at this stage.

Perhaps someone like Leigh Tudor could be a suitable replacement for Malthouse.

I think he's Senior Assistant at NM now, prior to that was at the Swans.

I suspect Matthew Nicks will be a candidate, although I suspect a head coaching role would be beyond him, at least at this stage.

A blight on our team is that Judd would be leading. As a dark horse, Bell, because at least he's been consistent. Docherty would be up there because again, he's been consistent.

Yeh, sad day. I remember the date because it's my old man's birthday - but can't believe it's 28 years. I wonder how good a player he would've turned out to be had it not been for that accident.

I always used to think of that (occasionally still do), but am just thankful he made it at all. Was such a wonderfully gifted footballer, like you said can't believe it's 28 years!!

Tracking behind him for several holes at the Pat short course one day, then him offering us to play through and then accepting our request to play the last 10 holes with him is a memory and day I recall very fondly.

He's a ripper fellow and was a brilliant footballer, I'm pretty certain it's better to remember what we did see of him than it is to ponder what might have been. What might have been is an out and out champion, what might have been was him not being here at all.

A pretty fair golfer too.

I had a look at our side and I'm glad we're only going in with 1 spud ruckman who can't mark rather than 2. But if Menzel is fit, he has to play. Why the hell would he be an emergency unless Thomas doesn't play and they promote him (ie, they're playing mind games)?

Just weird.
