Franklin.

KPP needs to be able to take contested marks IMO.

Stats say Brown took 490 in his 256 games ( 1.91 ) and Franklin 488 in his 300 games ( 1.63 ).

For me Brown over Franklin if i was a coaching picking, both absolute elite though.

For mine Brown brings more other players into the game, from what we percieve and see in the media i think Brown would fit a clubs culture better and was a harder worker on the track than Franklin.

He might’ve been a “really good bloke” & a “great teammate” but his inclusion only reaffirms by belief the HOF should be every 2-3 years. His selection is right up there with Dean Kemp & Simon Goodwin.

This.

I'm more intrigued by his selection when you compare his records to some of the SANFL / WAFL players of yesteryear that haven't been included yet.

if players of the ilk of Lenny Hayes keep getting it, where does it leave a Garry McIntosh or Andrew Jarman?

No chance Garry McIntosh will ever get into the rebranded VFL's Hall of Fame.

Carey isn't even the best Carey to play the game

or the best off-field

I was comparing their stats earlier. Warren probably pips Brown except for flags won .

Brown an AA only twice was a surprise.

That's because Tredrea was playing at the time.

Brown was surrounded by better players for a longer period of time.

If Booney was included in a debate involving treaders would it be better defined as a mass debate rather than a huge debate?

"If" Port had won 3 then the likes of Francou, James, Carr, P.Burgoyne etc may have been seen in a different light.

I'm not for one moment comparing them to Voss, Black, Akermanis, Lappin, but there's little doubt the 3-peat adds some weight to their higher standing within the game.

As long as Shane Woewodin has one it makes it hard to argue their value.
