Yeah, the media tried to make this into something, but like any suspended player he's not allowed to be an official. Because his suspension is through WADA it means he can't be an official in any WADA aligned organisation (which is basically all of them). And quite appropriate too. Given he got to play out his career dodging a suspension for being a cheat, as well as getting to 400 games, before retiring as the suspension hit I think he can consider himself mighty fortunate.

I would never consider Fletcher a cheat, one of the fairest players to have played the game IMO

Thanks for the answer Jim

Sorry pardon my ignorance here but how does him watching his son make him an official?

The game was played at TVS which is the new home of the EFC at Tullamarine, he is not allowed to be on those premises so games that are played elsewhere he can attend

Little bit of Talk about Hurley attracting some interest. Being urged to walk from the bombers with apparently a few deals being put to him. Apparently and only apparently as this is at best mass speculation, 900k has been spoken about. No idea what context.

I've heard the apparently Carlton have dropped an offer around $5mill for 5 years.

If there is one club he wouldn't go it would be Carlton.
I think he will stay unless he was offered that type of money by a Melbourne based team that's a contender

Which he is unlikely to get. A team thats a contender at the moment is unlikely to have a spare mill in the cap at the moment.

I'm hoping so Jim. As I don't want any of the boys to leave. I know they have a clause they can use to leave. Let's just hope they stay loyal. Plus I can't see Essendon not wanting them to stay after the ban either. It was said yesterday that Woosha is in talks with the players to reassure their futures at Essendon was secure.

that's because Geelong have a policy that no-one earns more than the skipper. Selwood is on about 800k

Not a bad week for the club at all. Great to get a win yesterday but more importantly loving watching our kids in action. Just clicked over to 53,000 members during the week and Heath Hocking became the first suspended player to re-sign with the club which hopefully is a sign of things to come. Probably the best news was that we have just signed the biggest clothing deal in Australian sports with ISC becoming our new clothing supplier. $1m per year for 7 years which nearly doubled our existing contract with Adidas
