He doesn't have to dominate or tear the game apart. He just needs to be an option. Provide a bit of a foil... and if he gets an opportunity... take it!

You will never, ever, ever, ever convince me that Neade, S.Gray, Trengove or Boak provide more to the team - in the forward line - than any of

Westhoff, Hartlett, Eddy, Palmer, Monfries, Howard or **** it, give Marshall or Frampton a gig.

Play forwards in the forward line. Backman in the backlines. Midfielders in the midfield. I know. A novel concept for Port Adelaide.

Like many coaches he had several goes at it before getting the gig. Richmond, Geelong and St Kilda all interviewed him ( and others ) before appointing their current senior coaches.

So "no one else looked at Ken" is factually incorrect > shit troll.

Oh dear, that reads like they realised he was no good, and so Port was a last option for him ;)

As I said, "and others", there's 3 senior coaches right now who were interviewed for the Geelong job, one of them got the job. Two current senior coaches were interviewed for the St Kilda job. One who was interviewed for both is still an assistant.

Seems reasonable for AFL clubs to put a committee together to identify a short list of candidates then interview those candidates, perhaps more than once, even though they're not actually in the running. Yeah, I can see that happening.

Of course he was short listed and interviewed......... but my understanding was he was less than impressive and hence was never really in the running with several other better candidates.

All history now!

Has any Port coach ever missed finals 3 years in a row and survived?

He had some speech issues early on ... a lot of clubs passed because of his lack of correct enunciation.

Seems silly but in a ultra professional and competitive industry club boffins were worried about it.

Don't need too as you and I both know the answer.

Are the site rules different in the Port thread?
You can only discuss things which paint Port Power in a positive way?

You need to highlight your weaknesses and discuss them my friend if you want to improve.

Only if the cap fits.

A Carlton supporter who doesn't comment on the Carlton thread, only comments on the Port thread, always negative & usually only when they lose. Yeah I'd say the cap is fitting snugly. :D
