Hawkins was brilliant Days certainly not his fault they lost, did everything he could in that last quarter to win it, if more of his mates helped him out then maybe the result would of gone Geelongs way. Hawkins was Geelongs best for mine.

Had very kickable goals all night that he missed, his big last quarter certainly nearly won them the game but he is paid to kick goals and didnt do it

Well yes, at the end of the day that's his job. You can't deny he was very good though.

Anyhoo, did blow your load when the final siren went knowing Geelong were out? :P

If the umpires are being instructed to not give Lindsay Thomas frees because of who he is, its a ******* disgrace. Not dissimilar to match fixing.

They should be totally impartial, look at the guernsey, not the player, and pay ANY free they see. Who committed and whoever it was committed against should have absolutely no bearing on if its paid or not.

Fair enough he staged, but thats when the umps shouldnt have given him frees. They can't just try to even things up after the fact. Where's the integrity in that.

Makes no difference. If they are changing the rules of the game to suit some players, and to hinder other players, it really is corruption. Its a strong word, but honestly, it is.

it is thomas that has made it blatantly clear that he stages for frees, so he will get a harder mark than others. it is not corruption, thats silly, it is a realisation that thomas has been playing for them for years.

he did deserve a couple tonight i agree

So its a free for someone else, but not him, because they didn't do their job properly in the past and gave him frees when he was staging??

You can't change rules to suit an agenda! End of story!

This is why "interpretation" is retarded. It gives officials too much control over the outcome of games, instead of what the players actually do determining the winners.

interpretation isnt retarded, it is a necessary part of umpiring almost all games.
