nothing wrong with any of those rules tbh.

Coaches are smarter than these dullards running the game and will come up with a method to overcome any new rules.
The 6-6-6 rule will do nothing to improve the game IMO. As soon as the initial ball up has taken place everyone will move towards the congestion like they do now

Making rules for the sake of appearing to be doing something, rather than just fix the crap they have changed in the last few years.

Longer goal square? All that means is team defence does not have to zone up as high, leaving less space for out the back goals, Josh Jenkins cries.
6-6-6 will effect teams for about 10 seconds

16 a side fixes everything in a much simpler manner. No new rules or procedures at all, a little more space all over the ground and would increase the average skill level with the two worst players taken off. Also means the rule can be implemented at all levels of the game without any trouble. The thought that the number someone came up with 150 years ago with a mob of unfit amateurs having a bit of fun is still the ideal number is just breathtakingly short sighted.

If the football community had enough balls they would boycott a round in protest of the changes, no one will though, the sheep will just whinge and go along with it.

The goal square one I find silly and unnecessary.

Spot on Jim.

Every rule change has been exploited to date, these will too.

I dont mind 6 6 6. The 2 wingman can still line up on the defensive side of the line and act as the plus 1 or 2 anyway so no real change.

The goal square looks fugly though. Why not change it to a 15m arc from point post to point post so the kicker has more chance of "shifting" the zone by more lateral movement?

Certainly a better idea than the proposed one.

6-6-6 is a joke.

18m goal square....really???? But will that also be the same for forwards who mark/free kick in goal square get to line up straight in front??
Thats just silly. All it does is move the zone out another 10m. Then the scrum is in the middle of the ground.

The 'interpretation' of holding the ball/incorrect disposal is like back to the future. The AFL caused the rolling scrum we have now, so its pleasing they acknowledged this by hopefully, reverting back to how the rule is supposed to be implemented.

Those at AFL house would well be advised to just let the game go. The game and styles evolve in cycles from defencsive to attacking. Any more manipulation and its really not watching.

How about the 3rd umpire actually do what they were brought in to do, but no, they are ball watching spectators.

Maybe the AFL could start putting frisbees on the ground for players to know where they stand like they do in under 8's

LEAVE OUR GAME ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rather ironic from a Swans supporter seeing that Roos and Longmire along with Lyon are the most responsible for how the game looks now thanks to their absolute crap brand of football

It's the Sydney affect, 30 points in semi was pure justice IMO.

we've played in some of the most exciting games in recent history, and the 2012 GF was probably the best one in the past decade...But our brand is sh*t...

The best defensive side has won the flag majority of the years...

We can't all be down hill skiers like, Crows, Port, Bombers

Hawks and Richmond defend well but play attractive football. Roos and his disciples play crap negative football

have you actually sat and watched a swans game when we move the ball???
The scg is small and restricts a bit of movement, get us on the G and we move the ball better than most

Lowest scoring side in the 8 by a fair bit and ranked 12th overall. Even lowly Brisbane outscored you.

But still finished in the 8... What does that say about the sides who didn't make the 8???

That we are shit!
I’m not denying that but ask neutrals what they think of Sydney’s style and they will all say its rubbish. I know plenty of people that won’t even watch Sydney or Freo games because they are boring

All the more reason why Sydney should be more of a high scoring team, especially when you have the most elite forward in the game that can dob them no worries from 60 no matter what angle.

Not sure about downhill skiers, the Crows play a good brand IMO and have a great forwards set up to accompany it, Bombers have a red hot go and are on the way up, as for Port, not sure they ski anywhere, they're too tired from running up and down the ground, Port's game plan is pure garbage so we're comparing apples to oranges there.

I've always had a soft spot for Sydney, they used to get plenty of air time in the 80's and had a permanent Sunday home game timeslot, they weren't great for a long time but they played with flair, I wonder how good they could be and how many premierships they could've won recently if they put the foot on the accelerator instead, they've certainly had their fair share of A graders and the best midfield going for a long time.
