I would think 1 if not both games would be at Etihad.
If not Geelong v Sydney at MCG, Swans wont get sent to Simmonds

It should be the Collingwood/ Richmond vs port final at etihad.
Eddie said on fox footy tonight that you earn a home state final not a home stadium final and you shouldn't winge where you play.
It would be funny too see what he said if Collingwood go told that they're playing under the roof

Its all about crowd figures which is why Sydney must play finals at ANZ.
Collingwood and Richmond will draw 70k plus no matter who they are playing.
At $40 a ticket thats a lot of extra coin.
No way would he put Collingwood or Richmond at Etihad

tell that to Andy

less people can get into Simmonds stadium = less revenue = less bonus for Andy

Actually Geelong make more money at a home game in Geelong. Also the Final if it is played in Geelong the AFL and the club will both make cash. 32000 at Simonds will be more than enough. Dimmo said last year 10,000 of those people seeing the cats and freo playing were MCC and AFL members.

Finals are ran differant.
The AFL does all the ticketing and all clubs get a cut from it.

The talk on the telly tonight was Geelong v Freo @ Kardinia Park, which sounds good to me.

I suppose that means Hawks v Sydney will be at Docklands Friday night (assuming at least one game needs to be played there next weekend), which leaves both Richmond and Collingwood to play at the MCG...

The first thing is that WE HAVEN'T BEATEN THE LIONS YET. We actually had a bit of bother with them the last time around. OK their attack is threadbare at the moment but let's not count our kittens before they're hatched.

And, why not a double header at the MCG? Footy grounds routinely held two games on a day for years in wet conditions and with much worse drainage. If predicted results eventuate there could be no footy at all in Victoria in the second week so plenty of time for the G to freshen up. If the results go the other way then there would be no footy in Victoria on Prelim week (unless that silly 'contract' scenario is still in place).

If the results go fifty-fifty then there is one final on at the G in the three weeks after next weekend. Surely the G can cope with one week of heavy traffic. Playing finals at Ethiad when your club has finished second is bullshit and we can't hold finals at Cat Park unless we are able to put all of the Bum Cracks on seats. No one should miss out, not even those slimy Freo supporters. ;)

Demetriou said yesterday that the MCG cant handle 4 games on the same weekend.
Someone is going to miss out and unfortunately for you it will be the Cats.

I don't get it why are Eddies mob or the johnny come lately's not mentioned when it comes to playing at Ethiad. I didn't realize it says preference is given to the clubs that have the most members in the rules. It should be the 6th vs 7th final at Ethiad

Come on Days, the draw is rigged for maximum attendance so why not the finals.
And of course it has nothing to do with Andy getting a fat bonus if a set crowd figure is reached for the year

Yep huge amount of pressure on them now. whats their record 49 out of last 51? I guess 49/52 is still pretty good ;)
Freo well rested and one of the few teams that could grind out a win down there.

Surprise surprise. Look who is here. Not as much pressure as having the best win loss record in the league for the last three seasons and not having a flag to show for it.
