Really don't get this mentality. Makes no sense to me.

I would love to give the power a spanking in a grand final, but I honestly wouldn't want them to fold.

Has a lot to do with a long history of being enemies on and off the field. The fans hate each other, very tribal still and goes back many generations.

I get it. For example, I hope Essendon get devastated by WADA

has played 2 in the ressies may play this week

Carlton also hopes to regain Lachie Henderson, Kade Simpson, Andrew Walker and Patrick Cripps

it could actually turn out to be a close game lol

It won't be. Our record against Geelong is very ordinary in recent years. I expect this to blow out late.

We still have no forward line and a brittle defence. Hawkins will monster whoever he is on (Jacksch?). Actually, rephrase that, we have no defence.

I noted with interest the other day that Luke Darcy and Danny Frawley were both lauding the coaching ability of Luke Beveridge and Alan Richardson respectively. They both mentioned "you don't need a proven coach" and pointed to the fact that the Bulldogs lost their CEO, their coach, their Brownlow medallist and their captain and still have gone forward.

Boffins in the media say that we need to have Malthouse at the helm because he's proven and experienced.... that's got us a long way so far!

Darcy mentioned that through the process, Beveridge was low profile and didn't jump out of the pack as a favourite to coach the Bulldogs until he was interviewed. And that's my point when people say "who should coach us then?". I don't know, but I know there are lots of talented people out there waiting for an opportunity.

last year twice the Blues got close to winning v Cats

however this year, it looks like the Blues have slid further back from their spot last year and Geelong are probably at where Carlton was last year.

From a cats perspective I would be disappointed with any victory under 40pts

and on proven/unproven coaches - im not sure the dogs have really changed that much of their gameplan from last year under McCartney - which looked like Geelong circa 99. he was definitely unlucky to get sacked imo.

Hawkins may kick more than we will. We have no backline as well. No Jacksch. No Hendo. No Jammo. Apparently Yarran is our CHB, standing Mitch Clark! We're stuffed - unless Yarran unleashes another left hook or two. Oh, and we don't have a forward line either, but yeh, should be close.

If Rowe gets hurt during the game, our next best backman is Malthouse!

I made a $250 bet with a Carlton supporter during the pre-season about the time Dick Shitehouse said "I can't see us losing a game" that Port would finish higher. At this stage I'm quietly confident :D

I think it will be locked away as a mathematical certainty by about Round 13 8)

Nope just your stereo typical ethnic over confident Carlton supporter but a champion of a bloke. I feel a bit guilty but we will turn it into a big night out. I'm not the type of bloke who banks a bet, id rather share my victory

we're a MILLION miles away from anyone above us. we might jag a win somewhere but I just can't see it happening.

Tonight, no Full Forward, Half Forward, Half back or ruckman. If we're competitive in any game this season, it'll be a miracle.

I get the Mick Malthouse hate i really do but the recruiting and decision making of some of these players is laughable.

I don't care who you play for, instead of blaming the coach play for your club and the jumper, you are earning hundreds of thousands of dollars a year to play the game so stop making excuses for these guys.

Armfield decision making in that quarter was unbelievable, Kicking inboard and missing your target by 20 metres, Gibbs once again isn't a leader at all, the forward line is a joke. They should have been closer but kicking is atrocious. Curnow, Jones and Menzel all missed simple shots. Casboult has been destroyed by Rivers.

Simpson, Docherty and Curnow and to a lesser degree Thomas have been positive.

Menzel gets paid to kick them and needs too.
