If they take on an assistant it'll make that statement ludicrous.
Therefore Bird or Lyon have the job.
Can't see pyke going there and bucks said no.
Who does that leave?

Hinkley, He's getting the ar5e in june/July next year as Port arent making finals in 2023 (Carlton the most likley to come in) so whilst Kochy will jump up and down for show the reality is it's a win for Port if he jumps early (no payout).

All IMO
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Listening to the whole Buckley convo he said no unless the board are changed. Wasn’t a flat out no. He is close to the new Prez so you never know.

Was stated yesterday that experienced meant also those experienced as assistant so someone like Yze or McVeigh that have 5+ years in the system may fit the criteria

They're a good chance of playing finals next year given they'll have an easier draw, IMO. Finish 7th I reckon. Kenny to get a 2-year extension.

Easier draw may not necessary cover the natural decline in the likes of Boak, Dixon, Jonas and the likes of Marshall, rozee and Butters getting more attention.

They're by no means not without a chance of playing finals but the likes of GC, Saint Kilda and Carlton are as much chance of improving as well.

Is making finals enough though for a coach that’s had 10 years already?

Rutten had 4 years at Richmond and then came to us where he served a couple of years as assistant.
Yze has had nearly 8 years at Hawthorn and now 2 years at Melbourne.
I think if we go down the assistant path it won’t be with someone as “Green” as Rutten

Boak won't drop off too much, if anything he'll play more forward where I think he's very dangerous, he scores a fair bit for a predominantly on baller, Dixon had arguably his most valuable season with us, albeit a delayed start, a combination of having other marking options up forward along with the ruckwork and more time up the field all contributed.

Rozee's improvement is huge, Finlayson's 2nd half of the season excellent too, they will get an easier draw but can they finish top 4 to capitalize on it?

FWIW, I think Gold Coast have a fair way to go yet, they ticked some firsts boxes for sure but the revolving door of players and poor depth will always be a concern, as for the Saints, well, it must be a tough gig being a Saints supporter, they can offer so much hope one week, so little the following, hopefully Ratten can change that.

Carlton will definitely improve from what we seen this season, this should really sting any of them that have any heart in the guernsey, they're better than 9th.

Or Hinkley’s manager is a genius and has seeded this Essendon rumour for the benefit of his client. Does Kochie blink and give him another 2 years now?

Dont be an essendon mate and overstate where you are at Saint Kilda have obvious flaws in in defence and quality mids to transfer. But you are on your downward slide. As others have said your 2020 was the one you should've won and now you're on the slide. Don't worry you're not going to drop as low as the crows did post 2017 and yeah you might mate the eight but the curtain on the premiership window is being drawn.
