Don't think his value or influence should be pigeon holed to on field record - he's helped transform the persona of Port Adelaide and made them marketable again.. He's assisted with membership growth.

Growth? Membership and attendence have both dropped in consecutive years.

Again, the knockers need to assess the list to accurately gauge how well the coaching group has done, easy to drop "missed finals" in. Those two years were 10/12 and 12/10 (W/L). There's plenty of coaches who would take a 56% win rate, plenty of fans would, too.

Port exist to win Premierships though Boon ;)

Yeah, well, we're not up against muppet wooden spoon collector SANFL clubs anymore, are we? So like every club our intent is to win premierships but it's a different ball game to the one where we stood over you all and made the competition ours.

I don't. At all.

Hawthorn have dominated the AFL. As have Geelong. As have Sydney. As have Brisbane.

The notion that you can't have sustained periods of success is defeatist mediocrity accepting bullshit more becoming of the franchise down the road. This is the sort of cultural crap that has pervaded the club of late.

We had our opportunity and didn't take it, we had our chance and let it slip in the early 00's.

The whole equilisation thing works, you get your turn, you make the most of it or you don't and you step aside for someone else to have a go.

Hawthorn are moving aside, Brisbane are in free fall, Geelong are managing it well and Sydney were aided by some AFL love.

It's a different landscape, a different competition and you're deluded if you think we can do what we did for years and years in the competition you don't watch anymore.

Take into account our shit administration in the late 00's running us into the ground and how the **** do you expect us to be a power house at the top of the table year after year? Open your eyes man, it's 2017, it's the AFL we're in here.

Be pragmatic, run a chart or something to give you a clue on how hard it is to be the best of the best for a period of time. Don't lower your expectations, just be realistic about where you should be or you're going to end up bitter and twisted.

Thats regular season. If you check which finals we won, we finished 3rd or 4th at least twice in that period. Missed a GF by 3 points in 2014.

What did the Bulldogs finish last season?

2014 and 2015.

2014 lost to Sydney by 71 points.

Didn't Port miss a GF by less than a goal as well?

Of course we are. Any f#cking supporter can have a crack at whoever they like, that's how forums sort of work at times.
Maybe go over to the North thread & have a look at the trolling there, do the same rules apply? ;)
