Port have gone 3 spots back in the second round and off loaded 50 and 68 to get Toumpass.

Adel get Seedsman.

What is the ******* point of getting pick 68 in this shitty draft?

We've done very well in the last few drafts. I'm going to back in our recruiters.
They'll already know who they want and will get at 68.
Don't like losing Kennedy though.

SEN were adamant last year that GWS offered Geelong picks 4 & 7, and offered SJ 4 years @ $800k per season .. Was the common rumour among the media personnel too.

I was hoping we'd gone off Toumpas as I don't rate him at all. Yeah we didn't have a great year but he couldn't get a game at Melbourne where will he fit in with us? I'd prefer Young and Moore and they can't cement a spot.

Never know, the come home factor might induce enough improvement that he's a better option than Neade? Whilst he hasnt lived up to it, he's still a pick 4 so you have a few top 10'ers on the list.

Port need midfield speed. Toumpas slows them down.

That's basically the crux of it all but I believe the money was higher.

I have no idea why we wouldn't have done that deal given the club probably knew this year was it for him....

If that's the case, that's poor form by the club.

It's (imo) a fault with the system .. Player doesn't consent to trade then there's not much a club can do.

GWS would be an eye opening place to live for most - It's why they'll likely always be draft dependent, and if cashed up they'll continue to land the odd decent name in the twilight of their career.

I think for what we gave up, Carey- the Toump is a steal. Top 5 talent in his draft, we certainly weren't going to select that with pick 50 or 68.

I know of one AFL scout that never rated him, and still doesn't, due to his lack of genuine inside ball winning ability. Couple that with suspect pace since his hip issues, and it is hard to see him forcing his way into our 22 on a regular basis, unless he improves dramatically over the pre-season.

Still- Polec was a top 5 talent at Brisbane that wasn't getting a consistent run due to injury and form, and even when he first arrived at Port- it was apparent that there was a lot of work to be done. Ken put him to the sword on the track and he became a consistent contributor in 2014, and looked like progressing to an A grade talent this season, before his foot injury put a halt to that. I'm not saying that Toump is anywhere near Jared, but they are of similar outside mould. If Toump has a ripping pre-season, there is no reason why he cant line up on a wing come Round 1- especially if Burgess and his team take the precautionary approach with Polec this pre-season, which I expect them to.

He is soft as butter and slow as treacle. Cant see him getting into that Port side but if anyone can get anything out of him it will be Kenny
