Of course Essendon and Hird will appeal ... they have never accepted that they did anything wrong.

Doubtful, have no chance of winning and it wont achieve anything. Wont waste anymore money, need it to pay Hird out. Big push at board level now for Bomber to take over.

Would imagine that's what they've been keeping him around for anyway

In the James Hird Court of Appeal is James Hird still innocent?

I'd imagine so.

No, losing support of the board and members. Apparantly there will be a rival ticket at the AGM, dont think it will get up but members just want this over one way or another.

I wonder if in hindsight this will be end up another example of why clubs shouldn't rush favourite sons into coaching positions before they are ready, or even at all.

If the coach involved was most people other than Essendon's golden child I reckon this saga would be over by now. Essendon would have moved on and blamed the former coach. Hird has created a massive conflict of interest for the club. They are working too hard to save Hird. Honestly he's not that important in the scheme of things and Hird himself should have let his club off the hook by now.

The Board should save everyone the trouble and just resign.

We will get to have our say at the AGM.
Couple of nominees I dont want near the club and a few of the current board that need to go.
Have to remember the majority of the current board were not there in 2012 and most of those involved have been moved on

Reckon he will survive. Has tipped in millions and unless another wealthy backer appears id imagine he stays.
Also depends on the other candidates aswell, if some of the rumoured tickets nominate it will make for an interesting night.
Havnt been for a few years now but reckon I might have to go and have a look this year

Joe Gutnick also poured millions into Melbourne, didn't help him either ...

Yeah true.
As I said, depends on the quality of rivals.
Might be the best of a bad lot

I dont think that decision will be made until we find out what happens to the players. Any player gets suspended for even 1 day and they will pull the trigger.
Anyway thats all out of the clubs hands at the moment, the AFLPA has now stepped in and have said no players will accept a deal and they will fight to clear their names.
Guess all we can do is sit and wait.
Hopefully the board and Hird dont appeal the court hearing and that will let the players look at ADADA's evidence

Will be a club decision to appeal, the majority of the board dont want to appeal as it could mean this drags on for up to 2 years.
We would be much better off putting time and resources into fighting the SC notices.
If we go about that correctly we could see a resolution within the next 3-6 months

AFLPA said the players won't take a deal until they see the evidence ASADA has. ASADA have also said in the new sc notices they will get the evidence. If the players don't accept a deal they will be looking at 2years if they take a deal it will be 3-6months, I know what I'll be taking

The players may also think the evidence is circumstancial at best and choose to fight it.
Only the individual players can decide which way they go now and there are probably some that will take a deal. Its out of the clubs hands now and the players now get to choose their fate
