Do you have a graph, statistics or a formula to back up such a statement?

Rockliff recruited to be on the receiving end of the Wines / SPP inside work and be the next link in the chain, at the moment Wines and SPP break clear with their sheer size from the contest, Wines especially, but he isn't a great ball user, we need someone for them to hand it to other than Ebert and Polec. ( Wines 190cm 97 kg - Taylor Walker is 194/100 for some comparison ).

Doesn't have a great turn of speed and with Wines, SPP and Ebert already in the midfield ( perhaps a little unfair on Ebert in this company ) we can't really afford to have another one paced player.

Agreed, he looked like a bloke comfortable at the level, 7 games in 4 years though means he's a long way back in terms of midfield fitness at AFL level, a sneaky feeling if he stays fit the SANFL will be a doddle for him.

The interesting question is why couldn’t he break into the Melbourne midfield given there looked like a spot for him and he was fit most of last year I think.

Maybe the foot injury has sapped too much of his pace

Can't blame the lad, Prince Alfred College with a proud history then to Sturt, proud history and modern day history ( beaten in the '09 GF, the year he was drafted ) and ends up at Melbourne where he's the captain at 21 because they've got to sell hope to their supporter base....feel for him, especially considering what was to follow with his injuries.

I hope he pushes for selection this year, a wonderful story if he does.

Agree with Boon's summary from earlier. I didn't mind Watts game, just going to take those guys a little bit to get used to one another.
Re Boak, he had a good 2nd half of 2017 i thought and has impressed me immensely from what i have seen the last few weeks. Think it just took him some to get used to his new role and he is thriving in it now. Could have a career best year this season

Gray is 4ft not much

They both went as "low" and you'd expect.

An unfortunate football incident ensued. Really nothing either could have done. I'd expect Gray to get off.

Interesting theory Morrell. Would have thought the shorter person would find it easier to get lower

Thats just it, Gray didn't have to bend as the ball bounces, since he's already low enough, the taller bloke does, which puts his head at Gray's shoulder height.

The assertion that Gray somehow squibbed or didn't go as hard as McGovern is utter rubbish, in other words.

Is Ebert too slow to play on a wing?
Is there room for Wingard to still run through the midfield this year as well?
Will they have to split SPP and Wines so they're not in there together?

Ebert’s not an outside runner.
Too slow and doesn’t have the kicking skills required either to play on a wing.
Has to play in the guts IMO or not at all.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

Ebert spends a lot of time on the wing, he's not explosive but at full pace he isn't slow.

Absolutely there is, however I think he'll be left closer to goal along with Gray in behind Dixon who will take lots of marks around the 50m mark with space behind him.

No, I think they can both be in there, it's time for Wines to develop his finishing skills to go to the elite level as a midfielder now. 23 years old, 107 games, time to show more composure and use the ball with more efficiency. SPP is 19 and still a bull at a gate, he's got time on his side.
