While he was not ever going to leave, that IMO is a more important signing than Sloane. Very happy.

Agreed.

Looks like Walker will play tomorrow night while Tom Lynch is still another week away, he has also been ill.

Put it this way...
Could Laird go into the midfield and do what Sloane does? Most likely yes.
Could Sloane go down back and do what Laird does? Not a chance.
IMO... :D

Em Dubs you've lost me on that one.

Sloane is an exceptionally good two way midfielder. Laird is a good quality back pocket.

There is also no way in hell Laird could offer the offensive capabilities Sloane does in the midfield.

Back pocket players don't average 30 odd touches at well over 70% efficiency....

Comparing oranges with apples in this debate though. Either would be sorely missed in either position.
One's an inside mid that runs both ways and the other a gun half back with elite ball skills. Could Laird play midfield? No doubt, but most likely in a different roll to Sloane.

While I would agree that the loss of Laird or Sloane would be a huge loss for the crows, I would say losing Sloane is much bigger. Don't get me wrong Laird is a very good player and if your freaky camps get too much we are happy to take him off your hands, but I feel that you can least afford to lose your best midfielder only a few years are losing your then best midfield.

That would start to leave a hole and whilst the young players are coming through, it would start to get a bit much to cover.

Sort of sounds like MW is trying to talk down Sloane so the possible loss of him wont seem so bad.

Luke Brown is a back pocket.

Thought you knew where all the positions were on a football field Morell? Only enters the back 50 to intercept mark

While that might be a Sam McClure or Tom Morris type headline, not what I was trying to get at

It is interesting that it’s always these SEN ‘blokes’ coming up with the Crow stories
