Henderson and Taylor will be cherry ripe come finals time, don't you worry about that. Couple handy key backs

Brisbane's Charlie Cameron has ruptured the Lisfranc ligament in his right ankle and will under go surgery that will rule him out for the remainder of the year.

Throw in Lever's ACL and the ex-Adelaide players have had a rotten weekend.

WTF is going on with Lisfranc injuries? That's the 4th one I've heard of this year despite never hearing of it before.....

I heard a Doc talking about the increase in "power base" injuries, the injuries that occur when a point is put under a load when "powering" from point to point. The lisfranc is one of them, the Doc spoke about the strength in the legs/core of players outweighing that of what the foot/ankle can cope with.

Should not matter if you get suspended or not.

20 years ago that along with Navicular, Osteo Pubis, Hammy's off the bone were unheard of.

Exactly, I suffered from it all my life but it was just called a sore foot when I played footy and I just endured it.

Far enough too but it makes a mockery of the whole system again.

You reckon? With a Brownlow at stake and ending in the same outcome, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I feel sorry for the players today, they have split seconds to brace themselves for contact and miss games when there's nothing malicious in their actions.

Same as all the tough blokes in the old days who would play with concussion, wonder if they have any long term side effects. Doctors might be over cautious these days but doesn't make the players soft cocks

go watch the Johnny platten open mike as proof that the doctors aren't over cautious with concussions

Who said anything about concussions?

We were talking about the new type injuries that players are now getting.

I agree whole heartedly with the concussion rule.

players back in the day that got a foot injury would have been "tough" and tried to play through it, and it would have ended their careers.

I think the intent of the "fairest" provision would have been to stop players winning it after "dirty" acts. knocking a bloke out from behind probably only got you 2-3 weeks back in the day. a suspension for something that happened in play would have almost been unheard of.

these days suspensions have moved on, I think players should remain eligible for lower level offences. maybe if you get 3 or more weeks you are ruled out but what Fyfe did was pretty minor. even though I can see why he was suspended, I don't think it should rule him out of the Brownlow
