Hey just my thoughts.....

Does the Captaincy really affect how you kick and catch the footy.
In todays AFL group with massive leadership groups and people employed to oversee leadership development, it is more than just one man holding fort.

I have to admit i was surprised at the appointment, but it is hard for anyone that isnt at the coalface to determine the quality of the appointment.

Time will tell though.

Its a bold and unexpected move by the Adelaide Football Club, something I'd (and others) never think they'd do. IMO they've been quite conservative in the past and played it safe with coaching and captain appointments but I feel they've had a change in attitude in first choosing Phil Walsh as their new coach which people didn't expect and now the same with appointing Walker as captain. As they say fortune favors the bold.

How can you even compare the 2?

Does this mean Sloane (obvious choice as Capt IMO) is in danger of leaving also?

Hope the players don't follow his leadership to seriously, if they do beer consumption in SA is going to sky rocket. Seriously has to be a Nigel Smart appointment.

Done a quick search and yes you are correct he hasn't. I thought he had signed a new deal last year.

Sloane isn't going anywhere, his parents just moved to Adelaide from Melbourne and correct me if I'm wrong but I think he has bought into roo's pubs with tex

Danger I'm a little more worried about though still confident.

He bought into Peter Hurley pubs, Roo has a very small slice in the pubs, he also has very little to do with running them. Buying into the pubs gives him 0% extra chance of staying. Bernie vince still has shares in the Hackney. Goodwin only recently sold his share in the Alma and i'm pretty sure he still has shares in the Pt Lincoln.

I do laugh at people's pathetic comments about the blokes speech. Easy to forget that the best ever captain both Carlton and South Australia has ever had couldn't string a sentence together. Put up or shut up it's pretty simple.

Just because you earn a lot of money doesn't mean no one else can comment.

OK, you've got me, can't beat that argument ...

Faark knows what sort of captain he'll make, in fact I couldn't give a rats how he goes, but there's little doubt a single cell amoeba would give him a run for his money.
