Agree Booney, but this collapse has allowed me to stock up on 2016 gear at 70% off! Even though its obsolete lol

How old and how many games has Eddie played?
Seems a long contract but maybe he's not as old as I think he is

Hasn't missed a game in the 3 years he has been at the crows too.

So seems likely he will still be going ok when he is 33

Giving a 30 year old 3 years seems a bit unusual to me. Yes he had a great 2016 but I'd expect him to get a lot closer attention in 2017 and I don't expect him to kick any more than 45 this year. What sort of $ are we taliking. Surely those radio muppets have been speculating that. I have no doubt in the next 3 years he will have an extremely flat patch and the 3 year contract will be questioned.

He has won our goal kicking all 3 years and has been all Australian the last two.

What makes you think this is the year that he gets closer attention?

If you shut betts out of the game the crows lose a LOT so I'm pretty sure coaches would have been trying this.

I don't see 3 years for Eddie as being too big a risk

Didnt the Crows have a policy at one point of one year contracts for anyone over 30.

By the way isnt it a 3 year extension? Makes it 4 more years, end of 2020, reckon he will be really struggling by the last 2 years

This was my point. I thought Thommo got one year, every year and it was some sorta policy. Even Hodgey only gets one year at a time doesn't he.
One bad injury when your over 30 and it can be over in a real hurry.
I do rate Eddy but I'm not sure I will in 2019

Big call for the crows but when you look at his form its probably not that hard to argue. Also hes an outside player unlike Hodge and Thompson so it could be argued that his body has had an easier football life.

Then again the way we all fall out of our trees when a long term deal is announced I would say the out cry is on par.
Read my reply. It is directed at you because you have double standards

He doesn't head south of the equator much and not many hard ball gets, I think he won't dwindle in form much over time.

Probably par for the course but if the Crows hit a flat patch im certain he will too. They have been up for a couple of years and there are no certainties in the Big League that you just get that automatic crack at 2nd week of finals. I reckon Port fell into that trap and I know a lot of Crows supporters who are way over confident for this time of year. I guess that's like saying the Pope is catholic though.
4 more years at over 30 just seems a bit like maybe the Crows are getting ahead of themselves.
Hey they could go up the ladder but they could very well go down especially if Talia, Tex or Rory get injured. Whats most unlikely is that they will stay in the same spot for a third year in a row.

Risk is low but it is unusual for Crows to give a 30 yr old a 3 year contract.
I think his run of games without injury helped in the decision making.

I hate the Crows more than anyone I know, But this seems a no brainer the guy has been awesome for you blokes.

Small forward, Low impact on his aging body, played nearly every game in the last 3 years, 3 times leading goal and twice all Australian and a huge role model for the younger Adelaide indigenous players equals No brainer sign here!
