Carlton haven't been involved in anything for years where football has been the winner.

Except crowds, memberships and TV viewers.

Imagine if we could actually play.
I don't think anyone can remember that far back mate.

I'm old, I can remember it, it was when they used to cheat. Ever since they got caught they've been stuffed.
Couldn't have happened to a nicer mob too. Damn they used to be cocky.

Should have been that team but losing McKay early was a big loss.

^.

Lost 14 goals to 10. Again.

Jesus mate, good call.

Unfortunately it’s how much we lose by every week.
We don’t get blown out the water anymore but we just don’t know how to win unfortunately.

Where to from here for Carlton?
Same shit, different day.

Can we please start by getting rid of Murphy.

Getting rid of Murphy would be a start. Much better off playing younger players. Also think they should seriously think about trading Cripps. Collingwood are in salary cap troubles because they are paying overs on Grundy and Degoey. Carlton are the same, paying overs for Cripps, Martin, Williams and Saad.

Unlike humble Cats supporters.....

Why does everyone think Carlton should be playing finals? Without going into it forensically, where does their list rank in order of talent?

Bulldogs, Melbourne, Geelong, Brisbane, Port, West Coast, Richmond probably even GWS, Sydney and Essendon have less holes than Carlton do.

Their front half lacks scoring power, McKay is a star in the making and Betts still offers some highlights but at 35 his best footy is long ago. Casboult is hit and miss ( in 151 games he's kicked 153 goals and has kicked 20+ twice in 10 years ), Silvagni wouldn't get a game in a top 8 side, Martin has flashes of brilliance but isn't going to be a 30 goal a year player and McGovern, lol.

In the middle outside of Walsh who is their elite ball user and possession winners? Cripps is broken, literally, Dow, Setterfield, Cottrell, Newman, Plowman, Petrevski-Seton, hardly keeping the likes of the Bulldogs. Richmond or Geelongs midfield awake at night. In fact any of the top 8 sides.

Weitering has Jones as help down back, Jones tries but is he in Brisbane's back 7, or Ports? No. Saad and Williams are both cheap kick gathering mercenaries, Stocker looks a player and Curnow tries.

On their injury list is Cunningham, C Curnow, Durdin, Fisher, Gibbons, MArchbank, McDonald, McGovern, Philp.

Why does the media rate them as a finals chance?

The media might live by "The more times you are wrong, the closer you are to getting it right" ???

How long has McGovern got to go on his contract?

Losing Charlie Curnow from the front half, who I think looks a better player than McKay, is huge. I think it’s their lack of quality mids that brings them down.

I think you guys have gone the longest out of all clubs since winning by greater than 10 goals.

McGovern contracted to end of 2023.

Ruckman and outside mids, they simply don't stack up against the best midfields.

And to think the bookies had Carlton favorites over WCE, ha!
Easiest money I've made in a long time.

Just read that Carlton are 0 - 7 against teams currently in the top 8.

Ouch.

Given our position on the ladder it’s not really ground breaking news.
