I would have him in over Matthew Wright. With no sub next year I think there will be 2 spots between Grigg/ Wright/ Lyons/ M.Crouch IMO.

you're right. i thought that old Gil had come out and said it had been scrapped. I think if you are going to have a capped interchange then the sub rule should be scrapped. you can't have them both together.

Lyons too slow for a mid spot.

Play him as a forward with Betts, Lynch, Waler and Jenkins.

Cameron isnt ready yet

Yes agree with that. There is no longer a need for the sub wih the interchange cap.

I think this is Griggs chance now that Sando is gone. I guess along with M.Crouch as well but with Grigg Sando really didn't think much of him.

Agree with you there Stan. Walsh seems to have a love affair with lefties and me personally, I am a big fan of Mitch Griggs. I really think he can be played as that link man between the 50m arcs playing as a half forward. But who knows what Walsh has planned.

Would Matt Crouch be looked at, to take over from Scott Thompson when he is done?

How long do crows fans think Thommo has left?

Valleys, I think Crouch can forge his own career irrespective of Thommo's years left. I think he will play this year more often then not.

Thommo if he has no injuries this year probably has this one and maybe next year. Still playing pretty good footy IMO

I agree FS. I think we have 2 guys (B and M Crouch) that will play similar football to Thommo, but will bring their own nuances to the team.

Thommo will retire at the end of the year after we win the flag ;)

Yeah I agree, I think both Crouch and Thommo will play in the side next year. My question was more directed at Crouch being "groomed" as such. to take Thommo's role as the inside ball winning mid (with his brother), in the hope of releasing Danger, plus outside ball winners that i'd imagine you will target over the next few drafts.

that would be the hope - both the crouch boys can accumulate and win their own ball, so hopefully that means danger can be used forward of the ball a bit more often and really hurt teams.

I think one of the big challenges for Walsh (from all reports is the perfect person for the task) is making the midfield work. We have a solid midfield (shallow in numbers but the top liners are ok) He needs to find a system that will allow us to get the ball out of the contest and moving FWD effectively. We won plenty of clearances last year they just werent effective. Be that a rushed clearance or not having that extra handball release to allow a better kick FWD.

In my opinion I believe he would be a better choice than Lyon as he finds the ball a bit and that left foot can be damaging.
