Most Exciting Players in the game

A comment from Spargo in the Crows thread got me thinking - who are the most exciting players to have played the game?

He said that Tony Modra would be the most exciting player to play for an SA based team (in the AFL at least) and I dont think there is really an argument.

Who are some of the other players that their very presence brought people through the gates?

Adelaide
Brett Burton
Andrew McLeod
Darren Jarman
Eddie Betts

Port
Chad Wingard

In terms of the rest of the AFL, I think Buddy Franklin is easily the most exciting. There is nothing that quite comes close in the AFL at the moment to Buddy Franklin having a huge game.

Bruce Mcavaney notwithstanding, Cyril Rioli would also be right up there.

Obviously from past eras Gary Ablett snr had that quality

Gary Ablett Snr is the most mercurial player I have seen play the game. For a man of his size, his strength, speed and incredibly deep bag of tricks will be unrivalled for many a generation. Disappointed in the fact I never saw him play live.

For the Power, the players who are worth their admission price alone:

Gavin Wanganeen
Byron Pickett
Stewart Dew
David Rodan
Robbie Gray (IMO the most talented PAFC player I have ever seen in the AFL).
Chad Wingard.

Some others that have just been incredible to watch over the years:

Andrew McLeod
Tony Modra
Jason Akermanis- absolute flog, but the bloke could play
Chris Judd
Ben Cousins
Darren Jarman
Wayne Carey
Lance Franklin
Cyril Rioli
GAJ

I'm sure there are many others that I have forgotten.

I thought he was pretty darn impressive & exciting for Port in September, 2004.

He was equally impressive at both clubs. Obviously watched him more at Port, hence the inclusion.

His PF and GF in 2004 will remain entrenched in my memory forever. Despite little influence in the PF for 3 quarters, he showed he only needs a half a dozen touches to influence a game.

The GF was made for Wangas as far as a fairytale was concerned. It was never in doubt that he would deliver in the big dance.

He was a bit more freakish with us IMO but with age he became more of a complete player and was a great servant of both clubs. To think he only spent 6 years with us but still made our team of the century speaks volumes about the bloke. His football from 92-95 was close to the best ive ever seen at our club

Most already covered .. I always found Allan Jakovich and a young David Schwarz good to watch. Trevor Barkee and Peter Knights from what I saw of them, were great aerialists in the era of high marking and Maurice Rioli was my first fabourite VFL player, hardly got caught, just had so much time

Adrian McAdam's 17 games in his debut season of 1993 were unbelievable, returning 68 goals including 23 in his first 3 matches.
He was something else - but as spectacular as his arrival to the big time was, 1993 was it for him.
Could barely get near it in '94-'95

I'd classify these two as brilliant but not exciting.
