Shock horror! Scott defends Selwood

Another quality week.

How good was Selwood with 40 seconds to go Friday night. Inspirational stuff. Lose the game if he didn't do that. He's a gun

I could only see about Port and Gray in the first 5 pages of the sports section so I gave up. Assumed no other clubs were a chance this year. ;)

Nothing a bit of stomping won't fix

Yep imagine if we took him at 6 instead of letting him get to 7. We wouldve won about 15 flags in a row. You can thank Mitch Thorp. Still not sure why we took a key Forward with Rough and Buddy already established somewhet.

Yeh, I am stoked. We're in the 4 and a double chance with home ground advantage first week of the finals.

Watching Footy Classified and Eddie's coverage of footy has seemed to go up a notch, he seems to be giving a lot more info and no doubt has more time to put into this part of the life now, its actually really good, shows how hard it must be to be involved in a club and the media.

He's blabbing too much, his sources will dry up if he keeps just blurting everything out.

Tell me why Mumford wasn't fined for basically the same shit if Joel is a protected species? And I don't recall saying that I was proud of what was a stupid stupid act. But this week's bullshit is well over the top. Is that what defines him now, well, maybe to the media sheeple. Baa away if you must.

You can't get em all right though. I remember back then there was a knock on his fitness and that might have spooked the Hawks and everyone else who passed on him.

Maybe, but his rant against Port's prison bars, along with a pathetic personal attack against David Koch was a joke and just cringeworthy viewing. And in true Fox style, they replayed at least half a dozen times and it was bad enough the first time. I don't mind Ed as a commentator as he genuinely loves football and it comes through in his commentary but that Port shit was ****** and I can't stand the wharfies.

Hate is emotion and not reason. You just hate him because he is too good. It's ok you can admit it.

Media figure and former Richmond star Nathan Brown delved into rare territory when he put forward a list of former footy stars — in commentary, radio, digital, newspapers and podcasts — and their estimated salaries.

Equal 10: Wayne Carey, $500,000
Triple M, Channel 7 and The Age

An astute special comments man and one of the greatest to ever play the game, Carey offers up solid insights on Channel 7 every Friday night.

Equal 10: Jason Dunstall, $500,000
Fox Footy and Triple M

Affectionately referred to as Chief, the Hawks legend is becoming a fan favourite showing his wit and softer side across Bounce, radio and Instagram.

9: Nick Riewoldt, $550,000
Fox Footy and other media

Saints champion has made a seamless transition to the commentary chair and is also cooking up a bigger profile via an upcoming stint on Celebrity MasterChef.

8: Matthew Lloyd, $600,000
Channel 9, 3AW and AFL website

A multi-talented performer across various platforms, the Bombers great isn’t afraid to go hard and call it as he sees it.

7: Brian Taylor, $650,000
Channel 7 and Triple M

Now considered Channel 7’s chief commentator without Bruce McAvaney beside him, BT continues to hit the mark for many viewers

6: Tim Watson, $675,000

SEN and Channel 7

The Essendon legend joins Garry Lyon each morning for their SEN breakfast show and is also a staple Seven News fixture.

5: James Brayshaw, $1 million
Channel 7 and Triple M

One of the most colourful callers on television, Brayshaw can do it all across cricket and footy, TV and radio.

4: Mark Howard, $1.05 million
Fox Sports (footy and cricket), Triple M and Howie Games podcast

A versatile cricket and footy commentator who has also made a big impression in the podcast world with his top-rating interview series, Howie Games.

3: Garry Lyon, $1.15 million
SEN and Fox Footy

One of the most polished performers, Lyon was always destined to work in media across television and radio.

2: Brendan Fevola, $1.2 million
Fox FM

A much-loved character on the field, Fev clearly has a big fan base in retirement with this top-rating radio gig over the past six years.

1: Jonathan Brown, $1.5 million
Nova and Fox Footy

Regarded as one of the great blokes in the industry, it’s no surprise the Lions legend is getting bang for his buck.
