Running with Advertiser headlines ( "The missing piece" ) defines ones ability to think for themselves. ;)

There was constructive discussion until benny threw his "Jenkins > Dixon" comment in Mr Spargo.

Hard to compare raw numbers, Dixon was in a basket case of a side for the first 5 years of his AFL career.

I'll say this, I don't think Jenkins could play the role Dixon does at Port and I don't think Dixon could play the role Jenkins does at Adelaide.

Jenkins couldn't play the role of decoy for the Magical Robbie? ;) ;) ;)

Although initially your comment is light hearted humour.. fact is it's right - he couldn't.

Jenkins doesn't appear capable of playing higher up the ground being a focal point, creating contests, clearing space, attracting key defenders to go with him.

Jenkins strength however seems to be the basketball background - his work rate and ability to fast break back to goals which results in a large number of uncontested marks/goals in or around the goal square. Not a bad thing at all, he's clearly elite in his efforts to do this and burn off defenders.. but him and Dixon are very different types of player.

They should actually try Dixon as a "full forward", I think all the pointless running up and down the ground either tires him out to make the best position or he isn't quick enough to get in the right spot.

One on one he is a monster and will either mark it or bring it to ground, let everyone else do the shuttle runs.

I agree.. but it's a sign of the AFL times - everyone has to work up/down the field like they're playing B'Ball

Mate, the only decent chat on this forum these days is in the Adelaide and Port Adelaide threads. I gotta contribute something.
