Did someone have their fingers crossed behind their back or something?

Ugle-Hagan was a dogs academy player - means they get first dibs bit like father/son.

When another side goes to draft an academy player, their academy club (in this case Bulldogs), can choose to match the offer by trading in their draft points..

Think that’s how it works.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Pick 1 is "worth" 3000 points.

2 - 2517
3 - 2234
4 - 2034 etc etc

The AFL's current academy bidding system meant the Bulldogs were able to pool the points from their later picks to match the 3,000 point - less a 20 per cent discount - value of pick one.

That saw them cash in the points for picks 29, 33, 41, 42, 52 and 54 to get Ugle-Hagan to the Whitten Oval.

Eagles, Kennedy is 33 and Darling is 30. Perfect time to chuck some coin at the lad to come home, pretty sure that would have spooked some clubs.

I enjoyed the first 5 hours of the draft, especially the following :

David King saying "I love this pick" for every one of the first 5 picks.

Players being drafted and compared to current players like Boak, Neale, Franklin, Duncan etc. One even compared to Zak Butters. The one that I liked most was being compared to Gary Rohan. Immediately I thought "Guess he doesn't like September"

Hasn't 2020 been unkind to Gil? He got old, fast.

Shifter Sheehan with his analysis, I reckon he'd have the position the parents were in when conception took place for some of the draftees. Talk about homework!

What would you have to say/do to Brad Johnson to make him stop smiling?

Just on Kingy, is he determined to never be welcome at Arden Street ever again? I see his was shit-canning them again last week, he was probably my favourite opposition player back in the day but gee he's a fist class flogger nowadays.

I guess thats the bonus of going to Port, you get the chance to live out your dream of being a one club or two club player at the same time.
