Was meant to run in a 1400 @ Caulfield (his favourite distance), withdrew because of a crap barrier.
Now in a 1200 @ Murray F******* Bridge drawing barrier 13.
This horse could've more than doubled his career winnings with a more competent trainer.
I had issues with our trainer as well. The sire was a genuine group 3200m horse and yet we continued to run our horse over 1000/1100m. Clearly bred to get distance, yet we continued to flip between being a sprinter over 1000 or when failing, needing longer (1200m) then when failing again, needing the shorter distance because he couldn't run it out. Finished up in Alice Springs.
I'm not saying he would've been any good, but we'll never know! Even running him over 2000 or 2400m would've been a start! Maybe that's why I'm not a trainer.
You've gotta try at least.
Our one was running in the race before the Melbourne Cup a couple of years ago, the trainer got stage fright the night before and scratched him to bring him back to Adelaide for some poxy race where the jockey needed an extra 12 kilos under the saddle, the saddle fell off mid-race!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It made the news!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I felt like crying watching it.
