Couldn’t believe how short it started.
Good to see Jeff “the money man” Maund get his only ride of the day up at $34 in the 4th race.
He’s made a habit of this over the years.

Lately I've been doing tri's, 6 to beat 1,2,3,4 & 5, got that one and the tri paid a paltry $134, I was thinking I'd get a nice tidy return.

After having an up and down day on Saturday and stuffing the order on race 7 in Gawler, I had been telling myself to get on the high numbers, so I sort did in the last, I like picking #10 and I like horses in their second run from a spell, especially if they won their first back so I took Ambederi to win over a couple of other high numbers and fresh up, I managed 10% of the pick4, should've taken it on sportsbet though as it was $2400 on ubet and $3700 on SB.

Chautauqua found his manners this morning & was fine leaving the barriers at Flemington with Tommy Berry aboard.
His next trial is at Rosehill on July 23rd, all going well “The Grey Flash” will head to Randwick for the Missile Stakes on August 4th.

Question for anyone that might be in the know ... Mate has shares in a horse that just runs like a busted ass. On most occasions it's run well enough up til the straight, but once they get there and it's "go time" this thing just has no interest in running. Apparently finishes every race without any sign of puff or sweat or the like. Anyone know of any ways to get a horse interested in chasing?

Some trainers chuck them over some jumps to switch them on.

Been doing a Sportsbet Promo where if your horse doesn’t win, money back up to $25.
This morning, do form, Horse 4 is down as scratched(it was tipped as the winner). I place a bet on something else, fixed odds.
An hour before the race I check again to see if my odds had shortened, the 4 horse is back in the market and mine has drifted.
I contacted Sportsbet, asked them if this had happened and their response was” There have been some Contradictions in the market, horse 4 is a certain starter”
Horse 4 won the race.

Corey Bayliss cops a 6 week ban for his ride on Tumbler, thoughts?

I think he got a rough deal. More a victim of circumstances then a 'pull up'. I've seen much worse.

Just watched the replay.
Not sure he pulled it up.
But it was a shocking ride.
Clearly best horse in the race, but when a clear last decides to rail and not sit 1 off.
Coming around the home turn, Bayliss said he wanted to 'balance up', which is fair enough but by that time he had nowhere to go.

Completely agree with the ban.
Am biased because i backed it - thought at $2 it was the win bet of the day for majors on east coast.
Is hard to fathom what he was thinking. He had ample opportunity to 'get out' at the top of the straight and for some reason he was trying to pick gaps through a 6 horse field on what was no question the best horse in the race, given how close it got to winning despite being in shi*&ers ditch for most of the straight.

On the subject, if Boris Thornton got away with his ride on PRIVLAKA (didn't back it - $1.40 too prohibitive) the week before, he is a very lucky man. Almost a carbon copy of the Bayliss ride on TUMBLER.

fwiw, i think the $26 on offer for D'Argento to win the Caufield Cup is a good bet

If it had started in race 7, it may have finished in time to win race 9...FFS.

Seems a pretty honest type mate .. Was hanging around the first 3-4 early dropped back a little, then when the favourite went for it and all others tried yours cruised to 2nd. Was never going to win but placed comfortably.

Goes around in the last today at Gawler, 5/1 this time, top weighgt down in class should be winning
